From Stockholm Sweden, comes The Hanged Man is a new fruit from Rebecka Rolfart’s (former guitarist of Those Dancing Days and bassist in Vulkano) The Hanged Man arose in the calm after the storm, in a time of stillness when the world suddenly had turned upside down. So her eyes began to look inward.
The inspiration comes from dark places like forests, skies and seas – even her own head where the interior is as a lake. The places are not necessarily scary, rather secure. It is in those places the soul gets room to shout out its need for affirmation. Places where darkness becomes a light.
The debut single ‘First Time Dreaming’ was released in September 2014 on PNKSLM Recordings to rave reviews in both Sweden and abroad. It’s taken from the debut mini-album ‘First Quarter Moon’, which is due for release on November 10 via Kning Disk/Telegram Studios.

Beautifully etched electronic pop, ‘Glow‘ comes backed with some stunning visuals. “The idea for the video was for us to look like we’re made from moondust, which we reflect,” says Melis. “We wanted something strange and amazing and unexpected that you can’t take your eyes off because you have to find out how it ends. Already good friends, Josh Christopher and Melis Soyaslanová were brought closer together when they both emerged from break ups, the two began swapping musical ideas, naming the project IYES. Matching electronic pop against some rather melancholic themes, the Brighton duo quickly attracted attention. New single ‘Glow‘ arrives on December 22nd, but you might have already heard of it – it’s being given exposure to millions as the soundtrack to the advert for Sony’s latest smartphone, the Xperia Z3.

GEMS – ” Sinking Stone “

GEMS’ sparkling and finely-tuned debut EP, ” Medusa” was one of the most promising releases of last year, so it’s nice to see that they’re still getting some push with a new video for “Sinking Stone,” which is probably the heaviest track on that release. The video, which is directed by BRTHR, captures the hazy desperation of the song well — slowed-down visuals depict two off-the-rails lovers as they joyride cop cars, do drugs, and play with guns. It all ends with a gruesome Bonnie & Clyde-esque standoff in the desert. It’s a haunting and atmospheric video, appropriate for this young and talented pairing.

Lapsley has revealed a new track from her forthcoming EP, titled ‘Falling Short’, listen below.

New track from Lapsley, the subdued track is the latest piece of material to surface from the much-hyped 18 year old, who has been amassing acclaim over the last few months with her resonant sounds of electronically grounded pop.

Taking things into more spacious territories, ‘Falling Short” is delightfully sparse simple keys with a steading beat, putting the focus on Holly Fletcher’s breathtaking vocals whilst maintaining the luxurious production that has dominated her work to date, showing a new side to her already signature sound.A pleasant change up in style, this track no doubt continues to justify the buzz that is building around her.

It’s not every day you hear a track that hooks you straight in, there’s almost a slight nervousness that the song might change pace and you’ll be disappointed, ‘War Cry’ will keep you hanging on till the very end. Detailed information on Montgomery is hard to come by, the press release was tight lipped but if you dig around you’ll find out she enjoys spear fishing, white water rafting and possibly resides in Brisbane. It was announced today that she was the newest signing to the I OH YOU family, which can only mean good things. Her debut EP New Clear War is out October 24. ‘War Cry’ is the first track to be lifted from the EP, made even more spellbinding with its accompanying Caspar clip,

Bastille have debuted the first of new material, a song titled ‘Torn Apart’, featuring Grades. The track is interesting, as it takes the melodies of the Bastille sound and ratchets them up into an electro-pop banger, thanks to production from Grades. It’s the first glimpse at new material and  possibily the direction the band will go to for their next album release. The song is taken from Bastille’s third mixtape, Vs (Other People’s Heartache Vol.3), a format that in the past has allowed the group to indulge in their penchant for covers and special guests.
