The Russian Shoegazer band released this EP as far back as 2009  so with the new release of the single “Ravestar Supreme” at the end of this month and a superb debut album from late last year called “Everything Else Matters”  Ethereal female vocals hang over tribal beats and amazing blazing guitars in “Cocteau-esque” sonic haze.
This band is the only unit that gives The Joy Formidible a run for their money in the dreampop world.
“Blaster” is the highlight here. Everything is good on this early release. But nothing compares to whats coming next from this Russian band Favorite track: Blaster.
Hands down one of the best ‘shoegaze bands to come across.  All 4 tracks on this E.P. are fantastic. I hope the forthcoming live shows can come close to this. I love ‘Ode to Godzilla’

NME says Public Access TV is “New York’s hottest new band”; playing Baby’s All Right w/ Twin Peaks & other dates

If you haven’t heard of Brooklyn trio Public Access TV, well that’s because you’re not a British music journalist. They’ve already been acclaimed by the likes of Q, The Guardian and NME who called them “New York’s hottest new band” before they even played their first live show — which was at NYC’s Niagra in January. (Lindsay Lohan and Alexa Chung were there.) PATV is fronted by John Eatherly who was in Be Your Own Pet and also played in Eleanor Friedberger’s band and The Virgins for a while. Guitarist Xan Aird was also in The Virgins, and drummer Peter Baumann is also in Grand Rapids.
As for what they sound like, Eatherly knows his way around a hook and PATV’s guitar pop seems directly decended from Phoenix and The Strokes, with a little hyperactive 1979 new wave in there on tracks like “I’m Allergic.” Stream a couple songs below and look for their debut later this year.

You can also see Public Access TV live, including a few shows in the NY-area. They play NJ’s Wonder Bar on July 29 with Reignwolf, and then a free late night show at Mercury Lounge on July 31. Then they’ll play Baby’s All Right on August 14 with Chicago’s Twin Peaks, and Lemons. That’s an all-ages show and tickets are on sale now.
After those shows, PATV will be on the road for a few shows with The Features.

Having just come off tours with Alt-J and Wolf Alice, Gengahr, a five-piece indie band from London, drop their latest track ‘Haunter’.
Gengahr’s sound is nothing short of enjoyable. And as the sun finally begins to show it’s lovely little face again, ‘Haunter’ is a nice track to enter the spring-season with.
Compared to their older releases, ‘Haunter’ shows the band really beginning to progress within their sound: the influences are still present, but as opposed to previous songs such as ‘Bathed in Light’ and ‘Powder’, it’s much harder to pin-point just who they sound like.
The fivesome being on tour with the Leeds-based giants Alt J, but ‘Haunter’ is in no-way a sound of the band becoming contrived.
As these influences become more attached, without the band themselves losing their roots, ‘Haunter’ shows the five-piece adding its older quirks with the new to create a charming three-minute track. Starting with an arpeggiated chord progress on an acoustic guitar, with the frontman’s hushed, whispered vocals reverberating over the top, harmonies and extra instrumentation then follow suit to create a great introduction to the track.
Following on from this are lovely, melodic guitar phrases and tasty keyboard riffs, all following an unconventional song-structure, creating a song that still surprises and contains lots of new things to listen out for on repeated listens.

“Spectral,Shoegazey Magical Sounds” the band Tape Runs Out release ‘Friends’ due out on the 30.03.2015 on Ear to Ear Records

“A perfect introduction to new and unseen places in the sonic universe!” – Producer Marc Joy (Mike Peters, Golden Fable, Bernard Butler)
Ear to Ear Records presents the debut single from Cambridge indie pop rock outfit  For fans of: The Radio Dept., Yuck, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Alvvays, Mogwai
Release Date: March 30th, 2015 on Ear To Ear Records who will release their debut double A-side single ‘Friends’ The band’s debut LP is expected in autumn 2015.

Tape Runs Out unashamedly display their edgy, refreshing pop-mindedness in these two tracks, with a potent elixir of guitars, hooks and the familiar soft hush of early 90s male vocals. This release includes the hallmark “Friends”, a layered jangle anthem sure to inspire dreaming and gazing, and the stand-out track “Flowers” is reminiscent of ‘Rock Action’ era Mogwai on ecstacy with a remarkable Cure-laced cool-down effect.
Tape Runs Out: One of the most exciting bands to come out of Cambridge in recent times, Tape Runs Out have being enthralling audiences around England for the past couple of years. Although they have been variously described as indie, shoegaze, dream pop and electronica but they certainly borrow elements from these genres, they have carved out their own sound by blending cleverly crafted melodies, melancholic ambience and dreamy reverb-tinged rhythms. Headed by Liam Goodrum-Bell, Tape Runs Out’s music is infectious with a modern and unique twist, bucking stereotypical trends with songs to be savored by those who like to ‘feel’ and absorb the music, as well as the most intricate and scrupulous music lovers.

Manchester four-piece PINS have announced the release of their new album “Wild Nights” on 8th June through Bella Union Records . The first 7″ single from the album, “Too Little Too Late”, will precede it on 30th March. The perfect taster for the album,  it opens with a fearless drumbeat and heavy bassline before slowing into a sparse momentary instrumental. The track then reverts back to Faith Vern’s alluring vocal before finally stampeding heavily into a fuzzed up sound clash of guitars and drums. It is our favourite PINS track so far…watch the super slow motion video

Pins play  the song “House of Love” live at the Eagle Inn, Salford on 27th February 2015 previewing their 2nd album due in June. The new Pins album. with the bands fearless drumbeat and bass sound, with Faith’s alluring vocal and finally the stunning clash of guitars and drums. Manchester-based PINS are a truly glorious mix of shoegaze, punk and post-punk, with singer and guitarist Faith Holgate at times veering towards Patti Smith and then back to Karen O. last year’s album Girls Like Us, certainly straddles between shoegaze and punk, they are  is wonderfully raw and visceral. Savages would struggle to out-do this band.

PINS look the part and you sense they’re certainly beginning to know this. Already on Bella Union, they’re tantalisingly close to breaking through, with the soon-to-begin tour alongside The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion a massive indication of this. No, it shouldn’t be long now. They’re a real privilege to see.

Firebrand rockers The Districts have enjoyed a stellar year so far. Their debut album “A Flourish And A Spoil” has been getting rave reviews and they’re filling bigger and bigger venues across the world. Their riotous live shows are notorious, and, to show this off, the band filmed themselves storming it at a hometown show in Philadelphia, a show you can watch in its entirety,
