The Peach Fuzz, These Scouse newcomers have already made a splash on the scene last year with plenty of gigs in their home town as well as a few high profile tours with The Vryll Society and Clean Cut Kid. Their debut single ‘Destroy The Evidence’ being a personal favourite of mine of 2018; It’s a mixture of pysch, pop and rock ’n’ roll reminds me of the Manic Street Preachers during the ‘This Is My Truth’ to ‘Lifeblood’ era, ‪Produced by James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios‬

PUMPKIN Is out now! go watch the lyric video(made by Genessa Gariano) and listen on all platforms. this is a special one to us.

The Los Angeles-based band, fronted by 18-year-old vocalist/guitarist Lydia Night, follow ‘California Friends’ and their recent cover of Queen’s classic ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, which was recorded for a national Silk ad spot that premiered during the Golden Globe Awards.

'Designer'

The first single ‘The Barrel’ has been launched today, with a delightfully off-kilter accompanying video that transmutes to film the intense and commanding energy seen in Harding’s live shows. Designer finds the New Zealander hitting her creative stride.  After Party, Harding came off a 100-date tour last summer and went straight into the studio with a collection of songs written on the road.  Reuniting with John Parish, producer of Party, Harding spent 15 days recording and 10 days mixing at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth and Bristol’s J&J Studio and Playpen.  From the bold strokes of opening track ‘Fixture Picture’, there is an overriding sense of an enigmatic artist confident in their work, with contributions from Huw Evans (H. Hawkline), Stephen Black (Sweet Baboo), drummer Gwion Llewelyn and violinist Clare Mactaggart broadening and complimenting Harding’s rich and timeless songwriting.

‘The Barrel’, by Aldous Harding. New album ‘Designer’ will be released on 4AD/Flying Nun on 26th April 2019.

Robert Plant’s new band, Saving Grace, appeared online following its third and fourth concerts, which took place earlier this month. What do you do when you are a 70-year-old rock legend with time on your hands? Well, go on the road again with a new band, of course. It’s the music.

The Led Zeppelin icon unveiled his latest project at a low-key concert near the border between England and Wales  this month, showcasing a sound that was described as “music inspired by the dreamscape of the Welsh Marches” with dynamics “from a whisper to a scream.”

Robert Plant is ever so gently testing the waters in Britain with a nascent ensemble called Saving Grace. He has been popping up at a few gigs as a surprise support act for veteran folk-rockers Fairport Convention on their winter tour. Judging by the performance and the reaction of a delighted audience at The Anvil in Basingstoke, England, on February. 14th, we will be hearing a lot more of the band. The music was tight yet relaxed — a contradictory combination that testifies to years of experience. The 40-minute set could easily have gone on to a full concert as far as the surprised audience was concerned.

The group features vocalist Suzy Dian, mandolinist and guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo player and guitarist Matt Worley and percussionist Oli Jefferson.

On offer was an eclectic mix of folky-bluesy-jazzy tunes that never once disappointed.

There was, for example, a wonderfully harmonious rendering of Doc Watson’s “Your Long Journey,” a melodious delivery of Nat King Cole’s “Nature Boy,” and a haunting version of a Plant favorite, the spiritual “Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down.”

Also outstanding was “Season of the Witch,” an interpretation of the Donovan classic that somehow (and delightfully) morphed temporarily into Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.”

It was a test run, so not everything was clicking. There were times, for example, when the guitar work seemed misplaced. But Plant’s famous voice has held up really well over the years (as have the long curly locks).

It was beautifully augmented by co-singer Suzy Dian, who looked to be more than 40 year’s Plant’s junior but whose voice sounded as if she were born to sing with him.

The harmonies were spot on. So much so, in fact, that Plant melded with Dian better that he did with Alison Krauss on Raising Sand, which is no mean accomplishment. Backing them was Tony Kelsey on guitar and mandolin, Matt Worley on banjo and guitar, and Oli Jefferson on drums.

Saving Grace actually appears to be a synthesis of two of Plant’s more successful post-Zeppelin ventures: 2007’s Grammy-winning Raising Sand and 2010’s Grammy-nominated Band of Joy. The former was a melodic dip into country; the latter a more hard-hitting strain of folk-rock. Both were excellent, so Saving Grace is brimming with promise for the future.

Palehound (aka Ellen Kempner) has shared a brand new song, “Killer.” It is out now via Polyvinyl Record Co. and shared in honor of her current tour dates.

“With the new track, Palehound is teasing more new music to come,” a press release notes.

It may be the middle of February, but “Killer” is what Halloween-themed playlists have been wishing for. Dreamy, plucked guitar sequences invite the listener into the portrait of a walk home alone, down a sidewalk by the woods where the moonlight cuts through just enough to make you second-guess flickering shadows. Steady drums and a creeping, sinister bass slink in, ensnaring your attention before Kempner’s mesmerizing voice is heard crooning lines like, “Just because I feel the devil in your bed / doesn’t mean it’s you.” Wailing, howl-like riffs carry out the ominous dreamscape to a spine-tingling finish.

The song’s menacing undertones, while hypnotic in their delivery, touch on a more serious topic. “Quite frankly, this song is about the murderous fantasies I have about all of the people who have abused my friends and how they continue to live their lives unpunished,” Kempner said in a statement.

Strand of Oaks (aka Timothy Showalter) have announced their sixth studo album – “Eraserland” out March 22nd via Dead Oceans Recordings.

Eraserland features the impressive backing band of Carl Broemel, Bo Koster, Patrick Hallahan and Tom Blankenship of My Morning Jacket, as well as special guest Jason Isbell.

According to Showalter, the lead single “Ruby” is a reflection on a certain kind of nostalgia.

“Ruby is the happiest song I’ve ever written,” he said via a press release. “Ruby isn’t a person, rather the concept of time and memory and how with every passing year it becomes non linear. In the past I would’ve dismissed such unabashedly pure optimism, but I’ve been through a lot and I’ve learned to appreciate those rare moments of light.

Honeyblood’s third album sees Stina Tweeddale finding her most ambitious form and steely focus yet. Three albums in she has stepped forward to finally claim the mantle of the project she birthed seven years ago as a her sole vision. Stina takes the reigns in collaboration with none-other than super-producer John Congleton (Angel Olsen, St Vincent) for the most definitive Honeyblood LP to date, consolidating the Glasgow-born band as one of the most important UK names. On lead single, The Third Degree Stina’s arguably perfected the fine art of the punk-rock ode-to-the-shit-head-ex. ButIn Plain Sight is as sonically gung-ho as peak era Garbage, or the modern day likes of St Vincent; big, bold, songwriting no longer content to be tied to one limited genre. Woven with mysterious themes of illusion and deception, Tweeddale describes the album as “one big trick”. Being hoodwinked never felt so exciting.
