Newcastle’s Hit The North Festival has announced the 2018 festival line-up.
Taking place on Sunday 6th May across 15 venues in Newcastle City Centre, Hit The North will continue to champion new music, from established bands with new releases to new bands on the scene. The Horrors have been announced as the first headliner for Hit The North 2018, following the release of their fifth studio album ‘V’.
Joining them on the line-up are acts including Marmozets, Tom Grennan, Blaenavon, Sunset Sons and Pale Waves. LMLL favourites Marsicans, Sea Girls and Hockey Dad also join this year’s line-up, championing new music.
This year, Hit The North Festival will take place across the full weekend with opening parties on Friday 4th May (Drenge, Jungle and Circa Waves), Meet The North on Saturday 5th May and the Hit The North on Sunday 6th May.

The 2018 edition of Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival takes place from July 5th-8th at Festivalpark Werchter, and the stacked lineup was just announced. Headliners include Gorillaz, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Killers, Pearl Jam, and London Grammar. Other notable acts appearing at the fest include Nine Inch Nails, Fleet Foxes, At The Drive In, David Byrne, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, MGMT, Post Malone, CHVRCHES, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Breeders, Fever Ray, First Aid Kit, Albert Hammond Jr., and much more. Bluesfest returns to The O2 this October with the first headliner announced as John Fogerty plus very special guests The Steve Miller Band.
Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty, who as lead singer of multi-million-selling blues-rock outfit Creedence Clearwater Revival has penned a string of hits including ‘Bad Moon Rising’, ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’, is the first headliner announced for this year’s BluesFest,
Fogerty, performing his first headline show since 2008, will be joined on the bill by one of the top-selling acts of the ‘70s Steve Miller Band, who this year celebrate 50 years since the release of debut album Children Of The Future. It will be the band’s first UK show in over 5 years. Fogerty and Steve Miller Band will perform their own full sets in The O2 on the opening night of the festival on Thursday 25th October for what will be their only UK shows of the year. Fogerty will be paying homage to his back catalogue with a Creedence Clearwater Revival greatest hits set.
This year’s festival will expand to run across four nights from Thursday 25th – Sunday 28th October and will once again utilise all areas of The O2, including the 14000-capacity Arena and Indigo at The O2. Further artist announcements will be made over the coming weeks.ve Miller Band are two acts that have been on our wish list for some time and we’re delighted to have confirmed exclusive shows with them for this year’s BluesFest.

The wait is over. After a month of speculation, anticipation and rumour, we can now announce the first acts of what’s shaping up to be a legendary Meltdown festival line-up. We’re delighted to confirm that Deftones, The Libertines, Manic Street Preachers, Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Placebo, The Psychedelic Furs, 65daysofstatic, Alcest, The Anchoress, Kristin Hersh, Kathryn Joseph, MONO, and The Notwist will all be appearing at the 25th edition of our iconic music festival, curated by Robert Smith – the first of many more acts to be announced.
Meltdown is famed for bringing to life the world of its director here on the banks of the River Thames. And this jubilee year will be no different, with Robert Smith scouring the globe to hand-pick some of his favourite bands, bringing together trailblazers and pioneers from the worlds of indie, pop, glam, industrial, shoegaze, post-rock, electro, metal and beyond. Seminal alternative rock group The Psychedelic Furs will open Smith’s Meltdown, delivering an opening night performance on Friday 15th June, with Placebo (Saturday 16th June) and The Libertines (Sunday 17th June) also appearing on the Royal Festival Hall stage on the festival’s first weekend.
Influential welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers return to Southbank Centre for the first time since 2008 on Tuesday 19 June, whilst Deftones fly in for their only UK show the following night. Glasgow rock stalwarts Mogwai also play a one-off Royal Festival Hall gig on Thursday 21st June, with Nine Inch Nails making their debut on the same stage a day later. And on Saturday 23rd June shoegaze pioneers My Bloody Valentine return to the Royal Festival Hall stage for their first UK show in five years.
Robert Smith’s Meltdown festival takes place across Southbank Centre from 15th-24th June 2018, with performances in our 2,500 capacity Royal Festival Hall, and in our newly refurbished Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room. More acts and dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks and months, so do stay tuned for further announcements.

INDIETRACKS FESTIVAL – Midland Railway Butterley Derbyshire 27th-29th July 2018

We’re delighted to say that British Sea Power, Honeyblood, The Lovely Eggs, Dream Wife, Girl Ray and Sacred Paws are among 35 artists confirmed today for this year’s Indietracks festival.
The above artists are joined by Darren Hayma (playing ‘Breaking God’s Heart’), Even As We Speak, Haiku Salut, Onsind, The Smittens, Anna Burch, Boyracer, Night Flowers and Eureka California.
Plus, the following bands are also joining the bill today: Happy Accidents, Let’s Whisper, Wolf Girl, Just Blankets, Dream Nails, Mikey Collins, Sink Ya Teeth, Tugboat Captain, The Baby Seals, Life Model, Cat Apostrophe, Strange New Places, Melenas, Panic Pocket, French Boutik, Ghum, Rebecka Reinhard, Tekla, Whitelands and The Sunset Beach Hut.
The festival takes place on the weekend of 27th-29th July 2018 at our picturesque 1950s steam railway in Derbyshire. It’s a celebration of independent, creative and DIY pop music, with bands playing across the heritage steam railway site, including its main outdoor stage, in a locomotive shed, a tin tabernacle and on the steam trains themselves

LEVITATION FESTIVAL – Austin Texas 2018

Levitation fest returns to Austin after two years off, happening April 26th – 29th at venues all over the downtown area. The festival has been releasing official mixtapes featuring music from this year’s artists. We’re premiering the second of those, which was put together by Al Lover, and features Oh Sees, Electric Wizard, Ministry, The Make-Up, Bedouine, Panda Bear, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Parquet Courts, Ariel Pink, Slowdive, Suuns, OM and lots more.
