Soundpool’s first two records, “On High” and “Dichotomies & Dreamland”, are of a far more traditional shoegaze ilk, with layers of synths, guitars, and gorgeous female vocals soaring throughout. The albums are lush in their production, giving you the space to enjoy the nuances of every sound as it washes over you. Just don’t touch their third record, “Mirrors in Your Eyes”, where the New York City quintet decided to experiment with space-disco. Shudder.

The aims in the work of Cherry Glazerr, a fast-rising rock trio fronted by two 17-year-old students from the posh Westside high school Wildwood..
The 10 songs on the band’s debut album, “Haxel Princess,” are concocted from a mix of attitude, silliness and garage-born guitar haze, and Clementine Creevy’s raw, often witty point of view comes through fast. One track mourns the loss of a family pet with anger and confusion; another struggles to maintain a brave face while managing cramps and feeling like “a turd.” Occasionally, Creevy simply dreams of afternoons watching “Powerpuff Girls” and eating pizza.
“I saw so many singer-songwriters who would just play a G and an E chord on an acoustic guitar and sing about the ocean,” says Creevy, who keeps her leather jacket on during an interview on a warm day at a Silver Lake restaurant. “I was like, ‘That is lame.’ I wanted to sing about stuff I thought was cool, like sandwiches.” Hence the song “Grilled Cheese,” a slow-strutting number in which the humble lunchtime fixture becomes means for a taunt.
The everyday directness of Creevy’s songs caught the attention of Orange County’s hot underground rock label Burger Records, which released Cherry Glazerr’s debut earlier this year. An initial run of about 2,000 vinyl albums is on the verge of selling out, and a second CD pressing is on the horizon.

Cherry Glazer have just come to my attention, A three-piece band from L.A. that took root in 2012 when front woman, songwriter/guitarist Clementine Creevy began making bedroom demos under the name Clembutt. These rough tracks evolved under the mentorship of Lucy Miyaki, of L.A. band Tashaki Miyaki, and were later recorded with engineer Joel Jerome. After adding bassist Sean Redman and drummer Hannah Uribe, the band was formed, and Burger Records released their first collection, Papa Cremp with dreamy vocals and an ethereal guitar, Cherry Glazerr’s “Trick or Treat Dancefloor” has become the band’s best known song to date, having been featured in a campaign for iconic fashion label Saint Laurent as well as in the television show Arrow.

But the band goes beyond shoe gazey, lo-fi dream pop. Their bare bones style and precise, honest lyrics anchor a diverse sound that ranges from White’s Not My Color This Evening, with Sleater Kinney’s post punk influences to their break out song, the surf pop “Teenage Girl”, which premiered on internationally known style site Rookie Mag.

Cherry Glazerr consistently tour in Los Angeles and Orange County, having played festivals Burgerama, Growlers Beach Goth Party and Jubilee in Downtown L.A. where they shared the stage with Bleached and The Black Lips. Most recently, they played the El Rey, opening for legendary 80’s punk band Redd Kross and Mikal Cronin. The band’s name is taken from NPR reporter Cherry Glaser

Nothing, taken from the album “Guilty Of Everything” is the debut album released by the American Shoegazing band Nothing  . It was released in March through Relapse Records. The band’s musical style has been described as a mixture of ’90’s shoegazing, noise rock, and slowcore. It has also been additionally categorized as “heavy dream-pop” Nevertheless, the band’s sound distances itself from other shoegazing acts with its loudness and heaviness, being compared to the styles of  My Bloody Valentine, The Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jnr  The band’s style also “stays current by also giving nods to the post  Indie Rock , the band’s use of “towering distorted guitars, soaring falsettos and slamming, snare-heavy percussion .

Begun as a collaboration between former Vivian/Dum Dum Girl Frankie Rose and Drew Citron (a former member of Frankie’s band and NYC act Avan Lava), Beverly has taken on new life in the form of a live band (now fronted by Drew, without Frankie) and is quickly amassing fans. Lush pop harmonies and satisfyingly noisy guitars fill the space of their shoegaze pop songs in just the right way.Featured song: “You Can’t Get It Right”

Following support slots alongside TOY, Night Beats, The Lucid Dream, Cult of Dom Keller, The Telescopes, Pink Mountaintops, The Vacant Lots and GOASTT, as well as securing a slot at Liverpool Psych Fest in 2014, PURPLE HEART PARADE have been spreading their cosmic love throughout the galaxy since 2012, and have received reciprocal love in abundance for their incendiary live prowess.
