barnonthefarm2015

It’s been a real struggle the past few weeks keeping this a secret, but finally we can let it all out into the open…
James Bay, the winner of the 2015 BRIT’s Critics’ Choice award will be returning to the farm to close this year’s festival on the Sunday night.
The Hitchin-born singer-songwriter first appeared Barn on the Farm back in 2013, playing a sunny mid-afternoon slot on the third stage. Since then James Bay has taken both the UK and global music scene by force, becoming runner-up on the BBC Sound Of 2015 list and winning a BRIT Award even before releasing his first album.

James Bay debut album, “Chaos and the Calm”, will be released on 23rd March and promises to be one of the finest albums of the year. This will also be James’s first ever festival headline .
performance.Joining James Bay on the main stage at this year’s festival, we are pleased to announce Jack Garratt, Rhodes, Nothing But Thieves, Port Isla, Osca and The Academic.

Foy Vance will be headlining the old Wooden Barn Stage, and we will also be introducing a brand new stage to this year’s festival, topped by no other than Amber Run.

Rounding off our first wave of artists we are also pleased to announce Chasing Grace, JP Cooper, Alex Vargas, Freddie Dickson And The Guard, Flo Morrissey and Louis Berry.

"We're really pleased to announce we've been confirmed for this year's @[99669750051:274:Liverpool Sound City] on Sunday 24th May. Tickets are on sale now from http://www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk/tickets"

Liverpool Sound City have revealed their next wave of artists including The Cribs, Peace and Everything Everything. Joining confirmed headliners The Flaming Lips, Belle & Sebastian and The Vaccines are Fat White Family, Swans, George the Poet and Icelandic post-punk outfit Iceage.

The new additions add weight to a line up already rich in big-hitters with Yorkshire rock & rollers The Cribs once described as the UK’s ‘biggest cult band.’
While the capture of Michael Gira’s Swans is perhaps the greatest coup of all – a band noted for their hardcore following, seminal post-punk music and dedication to noise which has led to fans passing out at concerts due to the colossal volume.
All of which should add an extra dimension to the new Sound City site, situated on the Bramley-Moore Docks on the banks of the River Mersey.
Everything Everything bassist, Jeremy Pritchard, said: “Liverpool has such a sense and conspicuous love of live music so we always feel at home there, we always have a good time and a great party.

“In the early days of the band we always seemed to end up roaring drunk and sleeping on someone’s floor on Smithdown Road – it will be particularly cool to play at the new location on the docks, that kind of post- industrial landscape is always inspiring.”
Other acts announced include Spector, Stormzy, The Bohicas, Honeyblood, Aquilo and a brace of Merseyside front-runners; master-craftsman Bill Ryder-Jones, GIT Award 2015 nominees The Sundowners and balearic guitar-slingers Tea Street Band.
Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi said: “It’s a really big year for Sound City – with the move to our incredible new industrial home at Bramley Moore Docks we promised to create a bill that smashed expectations. We believe we have more than delivered on this promise. Sound City have also revealed they are working alongside STAX Creations, the team tasked with helping transform the Docklands festival site while Liverpool John Moores University have been named the official Cultural Educational Partner.

Sound City music festival runs between May 21st-24th with wristbands available here.
