Following up the first half of her two-parter which arrived in September last year under the title Infections of a Different Kind, Aurora returns this month with the album’s second instalment. Different Kind of Human Step II makes its arrival in stores on June 7th and features 11 new tracks, including the singles ‘Animal’, ‘The Seed’ and ‘The River’.

As with last year’s instalment, Aurora is co-producing all the album’s tracks with Magnus Skylstad, although there are also production contributions from the likes of Toby Gad and Mark Ralph. The vinyl edition is standard black wax affair and arrives in stores alongside all other formats on June 7th.

The Other End have been labeled «… one of the most exciting new bands from Scandinavia», and got international praise for their cutting edge sound and exploration of slowcore and dark indie pop when entering the music scene in Norway in 2018.

The release of their 5-track debut-EP saw them being signed by Just Isn’t Music (Ninja Tune) and earned them a spot at ØYA 2018. Super World Indie Tunes hailed the EP as . one of the finest records you’ll hear this year». The EP was recorded live in studio together with renowned producer Iver Sandøy (Enslaved, Wardruna).

Ida Knoph-Solholm and Alexander Breidvik make music for 4 a.m. drives and headphones worn surreptitiously under blankets. But really, there’s no bad setting for music this spare, haunting and gorgeous. The central ingredients in “Far From Home” couldn’t be simpler: Knopf-Solholm sets her huge, radiant voice against crystalline guitar lines that hang heavy in the air. Though other instruments make their way into the mix, there’s not a superfluous sound to be found.

Debut EP out March 16th 2018!

The Other End release the new single ‘Far From Home‘. The hypnotic and haunting melody hooked me after the first listen. The single comes off their EP which is set to be released on vinyl in March. The duo from Norway describe themselves as indie slow core, and come from the same pond that brought us artists like Aurora and Sigrid. While you can catch the indie act gigging around Bergen, I see their new EP bringing them to new places.

Electric Eye play droned out psych-rock inspired by the blues, India and the ever more expanding universe. On the bands inspirational mix tape, you will probably find songs from the The Black Angels, Wooden Shjips and Pink Floyd in Pompeii. With members from some of Bergen’s foremost underground bands, a couple of spectacular songs and live shows, the buzz about Electric Eye swiftly spread from Norway to music fans world wide. Electric Eye released their debut-LP “Pick-up, Lift-off, Space, Time” in April. The album received rave reviews in the Norwegian music press, and has over the last few months spread to blogs and radio stations all over the world. The album was a co-release between Norway’s Klangkollektivet and London based Fuzz Club Records, who put out “Pick-up, Lift-off, Space, Time” in both the UK and US. After the release Electric Eye have toured Scandinavia and the EU, appeared at several Psych Fests across the continent. They performed at the Iceland Airwaves Festival, Eurosonic Noordenslag

Having been fans here of Norwegian indie rockers Slotface since we saw them at a 2014 festival , we’re delighted with the news that the foursome are finally releasing their debut album in September this year.

Haley Shea, Tor-Arne Vikingstad, Lasse Lokøy and Halvard Skeie Wiencke have got better with each release, with last year’s double apex of the Sponge State and Empire Records EPs being examples of how the band’s punk roots and pop nous have combined to greater and greater effect .

“Magazine”, the opening track from Try Not To Freak Out , hints that there’s still much more to come from the Bergen outfit.

“Interlopers” is the new single from The Megaphonic Thrift’s new album “Sun Stare Sound”.  bring their seedy kaleidoscopic disco to Psych Fest this year,

The Megaphonic Thrift is composed of four Norwegians from Bergen, a rainy scenic city on the west coast of Norway. Joining forces with the collective desire to create a new sonic adventure, Richard Myklebust, Linn Frøkedal (The Low Frequency in Stereo), Fredrik Vogsborg (Casiokids) and Njål Clementsen (The Low Frequency in Stereo) created The Megaphonic Thrift. They have been described as a “Master class in sonic terrorism” and a “trashing, sciatica-shock assault on noise rock” by Drowned in Sound, and acclaimed for being “Face-meltingly intense” by NME.

The band released their debut album “Decay Decoy” in March 2011 on the UK label Club AC30. The album achieved universal acclaim and received very good reviews in multiple blogs and magazines. In March 2012 the band released their second and self titled album. “The Megaphonic Thrift” received hugely positive reviews on multiple music blogs and influential publications, nationally and internationally.

The Megaphonic Thrift is also renowned for their energetic live shows. they set up a perfectly tuneful song, then carefully unravel it strand by melodic strand– all in about four minutes. The result is a surge of scribbly, dissonant guitars, propelled by a percussive bass line and drumbeat that punishes the hi-hat and cymbals.”

The band has several European and North-American tours behind them, and has amongst other things performed at SXSW, CMJ, The Great Escape, PopKomm and Roskilde, as well as several support shows for Dinousaur Jr, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Band of Horses and A Place to Bury Strangers.

The Megaphonic Thrift has just finished the recording of their third full length LP together with producer Jørgen Træen (Kings of Convenience, Jaga Jazzist, Motorpsyho) in renowned Duper studio. The album is to be released by YAP Records (Datarock, Noxagt, Ungdomskulen) in the autumn of 2014.
