Listen To Tidal Rave's Debut Album 'Heart Screams'

Pōneke six-piece Tidal Rave have at last revealed their debut album “Heart Screams”, following through on the winning promise of recent singles ‘FOMO’, ‘Dark Wizard’ and ‘Slow/ Fast’. Showcasing nine garage-pop tunes overflowing with jangly guitars and vintage organ sounds, the team of Emmie Ellis, Esther Gedye Taylor, Kristen Paterson, Ann-Marie Keating, Frank Eggleton and Scott Hakkaart‘s record conjures a windswept gothic mystique reminiscent at times of The Terminals, while kicking up a storm and tugging at heart strings on such rollicking numbers as ‘Speed Of Sound’ and the title track. You can join Tidal Rave celebrating their album’s release at this Sunday’s absolutely rammed Newtown Festival.

The Wellington based six-piece band Tidal Rave continues a New Zealand (and Australasian) tradition of dark, compelling guitar and keyboard lead garage rock.

‘Heart Screams’ is out now digitally and on limited edition compact disc via Fishrider Records.

All of the songs on my new record are about people. Individual, real people. Some are strangers I’ve met, but a lot are friends. The song “Here They Come” is about a friend who’s constantly running from his problems. I love him to death but when the going gets tough, he’ll always just cut and run. The song is about the specific moment when the lights are coming up in a movie theater where he’s been hiding all day. I figured including personal details in song lyrics might be kind of touchy, and I didn’t know how people might actually react if they thought they might have recognized themselves in a particular line,

I am going on tour in 2020! It has been a long time, and I am very psyched to play my new songs (and the classics) for you live. I don’t do this ALL that often, so come on down and have a ball with me this spring & summer! USA, UK, Europe see you then!  This video is one of the first times we ever did “Here They Come”.
Featuring…
Stuart Bogie: sax, harmonica
Lacrisha Brown: vocals
Anna Stumpf: piano
Skyler Skjelset: guitar
Morgan Henderson: upright bass
Stephen Patterson: drums

A welcome addition to any alt-pop lovers ears, Brighton’s indie quartet Orchards are here to bring you their full debut album – “Lovecore”

With a heavy focus on killer melodies and Lucy’s heartfelt poetic lyrical outpourings centred around her experience with loss, mental health struggles, the environment and relationships, the band explore their fusion of math pop time signatures and pop inspired vocals to produce something bigger, brighter and more ambitious than before.

Armed with a slew of bangers and ballads alike, and in a world that needs more love and light they’re a beacon of catharsis, anthems and hope.

Released 13th March

“It turns out Lucinda Williams was just getting started when the veteran singer-songwriter rolled out ‘Man Without a Soul,’  That roiling, simmering track, the first new song she’d unveiled in four years, clearly took aim at the current White House occupant (“without dignity and grace,” among other failings), and with no apologies.

Lucinda Williams is out for blood and standing her ground on the surly country rocker “You Can’t Rule Me” which also tips its hat ever so slightly to The Beatles’ “Money Can’t Buy Me Love.” It’s off her upcoming album Good Souls Better Angels that’s out in April. Williams has now unleashed a second track from the album, and it’s even more ornery than its predecessor. “You Can’t Rule Me” is a straight-up blues-bar stomp; Williams’ voice has rarely sounded so beautifully ravaged, and her guitarist, Stuart Mathis, lets rip with slide-guitar solos that match the spittle in her voice.

“You Can’t Rule Me” from Lucinda Williams’ forthcoming album Good Souls Better Angels, available April 24th.

The new album from the Close Lobsters has been 6 years in the making. Including the brand new single “All Compasses Go Wild” The album will be released on Transparent Orange Vinyl and Grey Vinyl, it will also be available on CD.

The Scottish indie band Close Lobsters, who originally appeared on NME’s famed C-86 cassette, have just released their first album in 32 years. Post Neo Anti picks right up where they left off,
full of jangly guitars and big melodies.

http://

Jangling guitars the Paisley-based Scots Close Lobsters return to the fray with enough fervor and dash to make one wonder if even a single one of the last thirty-four years of calendar pages has in fact been torn from its place on the great rock wall. Rising from a growing feedback drone, the chiming dual strum of two electric guitars timed to the gallop of a rhythm section surely fueled by a transfusion of pure teenage energy, what’s perhaps most surprising given all that is that the true triumph in “Johnnie” (released ahead of new album Post Neo Anti…) is how utterly moving and elegiac it is.

http://

At once full of kinship, yearning, and the joy inherent in this mysterious arc of existence we all share, it is truly inconceivable to imagine a finer tribute. It’s a claim made all the more viscerally true by the fact that, by song’s end, soaked in one of ‘those’ melodies redolent of that mid-80’s golden age of which Close Lobsters were such an integral part (think the Minks the Junies the Mighty Lemon Drops et al, The power of song, it’s real and by the evidence submitted here, no one knows that better than Close Lobsters.

Officially released on February 28th, 2020.

As promised, Kevin Devine’s upcoming “Celtic EP” as Kenny O’Brien and The O’Douls features a Waterboys cover, and that cover is pretty great and it’s out today. Kenneth John O’Brien Jr. (born November 27, 1960) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League for the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.

Kenny O’Brien & The O’Douls are an alter-ego for Kevin Devine and his friends to goofily but enthusiastically play music for you on St. Patrick’s Day, while wearing the best Irish accoutrements that New York’s $.99 stores can supply.

We are here releasing on 12″ vinyl and obviously the vinyl is green, a total of four tracks from this Celtic-inspired, rocking outfit. Two of these tracks were released for Kenny O’B and the O’D’s first run of shows during St. Patrick’s Day weekend 2019, while two of them are new for the 2020 shows which are set for March 13, 14 and 15 in Boston, Brooklyn and Philly.

Witchita, Kansas musician Jordana, formerly Jordana Nye, is re-releasing her 2019 album “Classical Notions Of Happiness” via Grand Jury Music in March, with three new tracks added. One of them is low key indie rock track “Crunch,” about which she says, “‘Crunch’ is a feeling of an overbearing want for validation from someone and getting the cold shoulder from them.

http://

The song starts out with the confidence in knowing this person could possibly notice you and ends in anger and frustration seeing that they ignored you, established by a distorted guitar solo.

New single, featuring MELVV  aka Jeff Melvin , from Jordana’s Classical Notions of Happiness, re-mastered and expanded version coming March 27th via Grand Jury Music. Directed by POND.

Madison, WI’s Disq will release their debut album “Collector” and they’ve shared one more single, the ’90s indie rock vibing “Gentle” which frontman Logan Severson says was inspired by a health scare last year. “Instead of facing my problems and insecurities I chose to ignore them, coping through unhealthy habits,” Severson says. “I was creating a vicious cycle of numbing myself to the root of my distress, only to then be confused as to why I felt so bad. Through this experience, I realized the true gravity of the intersection between my mental, emotional, and physical well being. This song is about discovering that connection, and trying to uncover how I fell into these tendencies that cause me harm.”

We’re psyched to share “Gentle,” the third and final single from Collector – out next week  Logan wrote this one.
