The Babe Rainbow - Double Rainbow (PRE-ORDER - Limited Aqua Blue Edition LP)

The Babe Rainbow from Australia released their first track three years ago, it was a gentle guitar kissed , flirting with a sprinkle of drum pitter patters, dotted with a sequence of gentle chimes and whispers. Completely engaged with its distinctive rhythm and sensory experience, it was one of those tracks that really struck a chord; one to hold onto for years to come. So with a little digging, the three long-haired men responsible were found

Since the release of that debut single ‘Love Forever’, the boys have made us want to dance on lilypads, feel the warmth of the sun on our bare naked bodies and view life through kaleidoscopic filters. A psychedelic nirvana promoting love and harmony, the boys make it stick as it is a vision adorned with genuine integrity. None of what they do is an aesthetic, trend or scam; they literally just go about their way peacefully and happily whilst being crazy talented musicians and mood invigorators.

Falling a little quiet since their self-titled EP in 2015, The Babe Rainbow jumped out of the ocean and into the recording studio to gift us their first full-length album, Packed with good intention that has been shaped by an abundance of happy-go-lucky soundscapes, the wall of sound is complemented with rough edges.  It’s charismatic feel and sound is just simply fun, and has been released on limited coloured wax through Flightless Records the label set up by fellow psych styled King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard .

If you’ve been riding the crest of the Aussie psychedelic rock wave for a while, you may already be familiar with down-under wonders, The Babe Rainbow. Their debut EP from Flightless Records  in Sept. 2015 (produced by Stu Mackenzie from King Gizzard ) made instant ripples on a label that just keeps delivering the goods. The band returns this summer with their debut full-length LP, and the timing just feels right. Can you say it could be the summer soundtrack?

The Babe Rainbow represents a slightly folkier, stripped-down and sweeter side of the Psych rock scene, and captures everything you loved about the late-60’s movement in the first place. If King Gizzard’s Paper Mâché Dream Balloon was your bag, you simply cannot go wrong with clicking the ‘Buy’ button. The Babe Rainbow’s debut EP went fairly fast and fetches quite a bit on the aftermarket, so don’t wait around too long!

The first single from the Australian psychedelic popsters The Babe Rainbow is as lackadaisical as they’ve ever been – another hippy sturummer with a touch of blue-eyed soul and a sugar shaker beat that feels like it’s primed for clear skies and picnic playlists. They accompany the cut with a walk back to ’60s pop films, mashing a ton of Magical Mystery Tour action into a double decker bus full of what seem to be family and friends. Sounding like a good one, not shaking the foundations of pop too hard, but when good homage has its place, especially when its this catchy.

Australian Band The Babe Rainbow, are supporting King Gizzard and the Wizzard Lizard The Babe Rainbow backed it up with an equally organic and environmentally inspired video clip – which seems to channel the style of multiple 60′s television comedies simultaneously, as if you were watching them on LSD. The psychedelic VHS trip was filmed in Murwillumbah, NSW and edited by the band, the enigmatic Dr. D Foothead and Malane – and depicts the members of the band run around the town and it’s green pastures and hills, before colours change and spirals fill the screen to really trip you out.

Heard of THE BABE RAINBOW? Well, you should, because they’re going to be big. But not because we see them rivalling Lorde, but because there just isn’t any way to get their music out of your head. It’s beyond catchy.

To quickly fill you in, The Babe Rainbow is a three piece act hailing from the pristine Rainbow Bay (hence the name, probably) – which is relatively close to the Gold Coast in Australia. They have ties to Bleeding Knees Club, through their friend Jordan Malane (who is in BKC, duh). Most importantly, they’ve just offered up another single and accompanying video clip.

Brimming with ’60s nostalgia in both sight and sound, the Rainbow Bay guys have a new tune called ‘Secret Enchanted Broccoli Forest’ along with a handful of shows in support of its release. Ahead of their mystical east coast tour, vocalist and drummer Angus and their latest single, vegetables and his penchant for croissants.

The  debut bsingle is entitled ‘Love Forever’, and is about as love filled as you can get. Part lo-fi, part surf-rock, part slacker, part slick pop – this track is drenched in hazey summery vibes. Recorded in the hinterland surrounding Byron Bay byS. Joseph, you can really feel the influence of the location within the track, as this organic instrumentation and raw quality – much like that area of the world.
