Dune Rats are a three-piece from Brisbane, Australia.

Their debut EP ‘Sexy Beach’ received praise both nationally and internationally, capturing the minds and hearts of music bloggers around the world. With constant touring Dune Rats reputation for a raucous and energetic live show gained them a spot on the Big Day Out Festival and national tours in Australia with bands such as The Drums, Best Coast, The Vines, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graphitti, and Cults.

Dune Rats singles “Fuck It” and “Red Light Green Light” followed up the boys previous airplay success and both have had high rotation on Triple J and plenty of love on YouTube. Crowd-bending shows at SXSW, Splendour In The Grass, Spin Off Festival, Circo and the much lauded EP ‘Smile’ have kept the boys busy running around but they are already in and out of various studios and rehearsal rooms writing and recording for their first album, due to drop early 2014.

Kitten is an American Indie Rock band formed in 2009 in Los Angeles. The following year they released their first EP, Sunday School. Then in 2011, they followed up with the release of their second  ” Cut It Out” EP. In August 2013, the next EP ” Like A Stranger”  was made available . Kitten’s self-titled debut album was released on June 24, 2014. They have garnered much media attention this year stateside

MENACE BEACH – ” Drop Outs”

Menace Beach are a 5 piece indie rock band from Leeds were formed by core members Ryan Needham (formerly the lead singer of Derby band Komakino) and Liza Violet (currently of Department M) in 2012. Although the band have a revolving cast of musicians, it has invariably included Nestor Matthews of Sky Larkin, Matt Spalding of You Animals and MJ of Hookworms. They have also played with Robert Lee of Pulled Apart By Horses and Paul Draper of Mansun, who provided backing vocals and guitar on their BBC Radio 6 Music Marc Riley session.As a consequence of their notable members, the band have been called a Indie supergroup. Menace Beach have released on Too Pure and French label Desire, but are currently signed to Memphis Industries; they are set to release a debut album with them in 2014. They are currently produced by MJ of Hookworms at his Suburban Home Studio,

The PROPER ORNAMENTS – ” Now I Understand “

Argentinian songwriter Max Claps and James Hoare of UK indie-poppers Veronica Falls started a London band The Proper Ornaments with a penchant for hypnotic harmonies  and neo-psych. The stylistic touches on the album Wooden Head released as the Proper Ornaments’ debut Album, after last year’s promisingly ramshackle Waiting For the Summer, which collected previously released singles and EPs with those sweet Beach Boys vocal counterpoints sit Byrds style buzzing guitar interplay and some Velver Uunderground soundscapes. Claps and Hoare are joined by bass player Daniel Nell and drummer Robert Syme to complete the band.

As that list of comparisons probably suggests, the Proper Ornaments mix and match these related stylings with new bands such as Crystal Stilts and Woods, , and Real Estate  As with those bands’ efforts, though, Wooden Head is strongest when it leaves you remembering smart hooks and great songs

New York City band “Shark?” play indie-rock in its purest form: smart with lackadaisical guitar-bass-drums music,catchy and undercut with sentimental vibes. “Big Summer (Summer Ale),” from the band’s new “Summer Ale“ EP, builds upon last year’s full-length debut Savior. It’s the strongest song this band has done, and it approaches epic length by this band’s standards, but it still scrapes and sputters with lo-fi charm.

With no official release to this L.A duo’s name and with a couple of tracks on soundcloud and a video shot by friends, Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad featuring just guitars, bass and their voices the band mesmerise employing a stripped down DIY spirit sounds of maybe a little psych and surf rock with smart powerful lyrics their first official EP is due out on November 18th, lookout for this band.
