Arctic Monkeys, Björk, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The National, Lorde, Migos, A$AP Rocky and Jane Birkin head the spectacular lineup of the eighteenth edition of Barcelona’s Primavera Festival.

Arctic Monkeys’ comeback tour, after four years without performing live, leads the delegation, Björk will perform her resplendent Utopia in her first visit to the festival and Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds will finally bring the cathartic Skeleton Tree to the stage in what promises to be a historic concert.

All the aforementioned are just only the highlights of a monster list which consecrates The National and The War On Drugs, A$AP Rocky and Migos as the epitome of today’s hip hop and trap worldwide scene, and Lorde as the new 21st century pop star. As a culmination, the lineup also provides the opportunity to see a legendary artist such as Jane Birkin singing songs from her homage record to Serge Gainsbourg accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra.

Taking over Spain from the 28th May to 2nd June, Primavera Sound rolls around again in spectacular fashion.

A new show for London 2018! Ride are thrilled to be playing BST Hyde Park on Saturday 7th July, joining The Cure’s big 40th Anniversary Concert! Interpol,Goldfrapp, Editors, Slowdive(band) and The Twilight Sad (Official) are also on the bill plus many more to be announced.

The Robert Smith-led band will celebrate four decades since the release of their debut single ‘Killing An Arab’ next year, while 2019 will mark the 40th anniversary of their debut album ‘Three Imaginary Boys.’

Pope wrote on Twitter earlier this week: “So, 2018 will see me collaborating with Robert on a feature-length, chronological documentary of The Cure’s history from the 1970s via present day to the future. Robert himself will tell the story and this will work alongside other events for the band’s 40-year celebration.”

He continued: “The film to which I will bring my own style of jiggery-pokery will use as well as ‘old favourites’ a cornucopia of material from Robert’s collection which has never been seen before; Super-8; interviews; bootlegs; rare performances; behind-the-scenes, blah.”

The Cure are set to play Hyde Park next July with support coming from Interpol, Editors and Goldfrapp.

On December 6th in 1969: the infamous concert known simply as ‘Altamont’ (officially,The Altamont Speedway Free Festival), headlined by The Rolling Stones & also featuring Jefferson Airplane, Santana, CSN&Y, & The Flying Burrito Brothers, took place at the speedway of the same name outside of San Francisco, California; The Stones had organized the show as a free ‘thank you’ concert, but hired Hell’s Angels instead of police for security; four people died in the crowd of 300,000, including Meredith Hunter, stabbed to death by the Angels; many music historians consider the event a milestone marking ‘the end of ’60s innocence’; the 1970 documentary film ‘Gimme Shelter’ chronicled the last weeks of the band’s 1969 US tour which culminated with Altamont
