Live from BBC Pacific Quay in Glasgow, on the Ken Bruce Show BBC Music Day special, Rachel Anne “Rae” Morris (born September 2, 1992) is an English singer-songwriter. She released her debut album,Unguarded, in 2015.
Rae Morris gigged in her hometown of Blackpool and around the north-west of England during her college studies. She attracted the attention of BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Sean McGinty, who put her forward to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals She was signed to Universal Music Publishing Group the same month, and to Atlantic Records in September 2011. Morris opened a Blackpool gig for indie band Bombay Bicycle Clubin 2011.During this period she was mentored by fellow Blackpool singer-songwriter Karima Francis, who helped develop her songwriting skills.
She was also in a two-year relationship with Francis that inspired the songs on her debut album—”about going through that, exploring that sexuality and those feelings for the first time. Then coming out the other side of that as well, so that’s the album”,
Rae Morris released her debut single in March 2012, “Don’t Go”, following its use in the final episode of the sixth series of the television drama series Skins She also recorded an EP, For You, which she sold exclusively at her live performances in mid 2012, and in November released a second EP, Grow. Another EP, From Above, followed in 2013. Alongside her solo gigs during 2012 and 2013, Rae Morris was a support act for artists including Bombay Bicycle Club, Lianne La Havas, Noah and the Whale, and Tom Odell. She contributed guest vocals to three tracks on Bombay Bicycle Club’s 2014 album So Long, See You Tomorrow, including the single “Luna”. Also in 2014, Morris featured on the Clean Bandit song “Up Again” before embarking on her own headlining UK tour.
During 2014, Rae Morris released the singles “Do You Even Know?”, “Cold” (featuring Fryars), and “Closer” each with accompanying EPs—to promote her debut album, “Unguarded”, which she recorded primarily in Los Angeles with producer Ariel Rechtshaid Morris was longlisted in the BBC Sound of 2015 poll, and with “Unguarded“ released in January 2015 alongside the single “Under the Shadows”, with another headlining tour following in February.
Later in 2015, Morris appeared in a television advertisement for fashion retailer Boohoo that featured the album’s fifth single, “Love Again”. She featured on Sivu‘s single “The Nile” and is scheduled to perform at festivals including Bestival, Glastonbury, Lytham Festival, T in the Park, and Truck Festival.
Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club has remixed the new single by Rae Morris, ‘From Above’.
Morris says, “I can’t tell you how excited and overwhelmed I am to be able to announce to you this very special remix of my single ‘From Above’ done by my friend Jack Steadman. I met Jack and the Bombay Bicycle Club boys last year when I supported them on their UK tour. I am such a massive fan of everything they create and hearing Jack’s take on my song is the most satisfying and inspiring feeling. I hope you dance hard to it!”
Singer Songwriter , vocalist Rae Morris has been inescapable already this year and it’s only going to continue after finally releasing her debut album. Kicking things off as one of our Artists To Watch for 2015, Rae Morris is about to head out on tour with Tom Odell. Sivu releases his new song “The Nile,” which features singer songwriter Rae Morris.
“The Nile” was produced by Charlie Andrew (who produced Alt-J’s debut album) and was written, “about watching someone close to you slowly pass away.” It’s the first new music from Sivu since his debut album “Something onHigh”, and it’s an emotional slow-burner that benefits from the interplay between Rae Morris and Sivu in the second half.

Rae morris debut album is due next week after a long wait the album finally comes to the store near you, her hugely-anticipated debut full-length album titled “Unguarded” ahead of its release the track “Love Again”.
The album’s been teased a lot over the past few months, and tracks like “Love Again”, “Closer” and “Under The Shadows” have won over hearts nationwide; so much so that she was longlisted for this year’s BBC Sound Of poll.Rae Morris will be at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham in February.

Bombay Bicycle Club , She may be yet to release her own debut album, but Rae Morris has already been involved in two of the most successful records of 2014. Having been invited to be a guest vocalist on both Clean Bandit’s ‘New Eyes’ as well as three tracks from Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’, she’s already managed to get herself into the Mercurys and bagsy herself a recording stint with Ariel Rechtshaid. Her future is only gonna get brighter from here on in.
Christmassy version of ‘Stay Another Day’ Rae and her band and performed in the Radio One Live Lounge a few weeks ago. Rae said “We jumped straight into the studio and recorded a version just for you guys.
