Geniuses will always be geniuses ….. And I could not define in another word what happened in Brisbane, Australia in the distant past of 1977 ….

The reunion of Robert Forster and Grant McLennan generated one of the most beautiful bands that the universe has given us, the name, well everyone knows, or should know, The Go-Betweens.
This project is our small tribute to the magnificent work that these magicians created. My special thanks to all the bands that are part of this project.

And, briefly, the main feeling everyone wants with this project is that…. “Loves Goes On”...anyway.

In memory of the eternal Grant William McLennan.

The story of The Flaming Lips are somewhat confused, or rather merge with my own.
Briefly, when we are young, we are crazy, dreamy, rebellious, we have no limits, and The Lips at the beginning were just like us, crazy young people, dreamy, loud and rebellious, but adulthood comes to us all and with it many responsibilities , the priorities change completely, we mature, we grow and we understand that, that time of dreams passed, with The Lips, it happens the same thing.

But one thing is certain, the essence, it will always be stored and will appear from time to time, just let it happen … this is the magic of life, this is the magic of The Flaming Lips´ music.

The 40 Best Yo La Tengo Songs

With the release of the band’s 15th album, There’s a Riot Going On, last week, the time was right to reappraise the trio’s discography  There’s a Riot Going On is a good one, but so far none of its songs have jumped off to become my absolute favorites. That’d be a tall order for any band.

And if you’re somehow wondering who these Yo La Tengo guys are in the first place, well, they’re a Alt rock band—and a really good rock band. The husband-wife team of guitarist Ira Kaplan and drummer Georgia Hubley started the band in Hoboken in 1984, and released four albums with a variety of partners and sidemen and on a handful of labels before incorporating bassist James McNew on the 1992 full-length May I Sing With Me. The next year they released their breakout record Painful on Matador, a partnership that endures to this day.  Painful is where their “disparate influences congealed into a fully formed style of the band’s own, from early ‘60s folk and pop to the post-Velvets diaspora of noise and punk,” and that’s still a good summation. They’re about as likely to play a three-minute pop gem as they are a forlorn folk song, a 10-minute one-note drone, a cover of a classic hit from the ‘70s, or a crazed, 20-minute noise jam. And they do it all with the same level of proficiency, confidence and humility. Again, but they’re are a really good rock band,

Magic, beauty, inspiration, seduction are adjectives that since I first heard De-Luxe in the distant year of 1990 comes to my mind when I listen to one of those bands that live in the heart, Lush.

Many memories, many images, scenes of a lifetime had as soundtrack, “Thoughtforms”, “Sweetness and Light”, Sunbathing”, “Breeze”, “Scarlet”, “Monochrome”, “Desire Lines”,  the list could go on and on ….

I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing them live, but a dream can always happen anytime, just believe !! And that’s how I feel when I hear the magic of Lush’s music, a world of dreams.

When listening to The Psychedelic Furs it is inevitable that I recall Molly Ringwald and the movie that was made in the early 80’s, when I first heard Pretty in Pink, this was a time of lost love,

The purity of those songs still remains intact, the unique voice of Mr Butler, the characteristic sonority of the Furs was forever marked in many adolescents of that time, who today, like me, have become adults, but still carry with them that purity eternalized by the Furs .Thanks to all the bands present on this project.

We dedicate this project obviously to the eternal Furs.

Our dear friend at The Blog That Celebrates Itself released “Spiritualized in Other Medications” today, featuring 26 bands from around the world paying homage to the work of J. Spaceman & Spiritualized.  This album clocks in at about 2 hours and 45 minutes of amazing music.  If you are not yet acquainted with Spiritualized, you are in for something very special.

When I heard Spiritualized for the first time, it was as if I were listening to a prayer, I became static, I just admired that beauty in sound forms, and from that moment I became a fan, a huge fan, that still hear all those magic songs, and still hear them as if they were prayers.
Ah yes, that song, or rather, that prayer I heard there in 1991 was Feel So Sad.  Thank you J. Spaceman.

This record is dedicated especially to all the bands that made their versions as new medicines for the treatment of the heart and soul. In this Tribute we have almost 3 hours of music, and as said my friend Johnny (Astral Lite) “was what I expected from a Spiritualized tribute”..
