Released today in April 1971 A coherent album bridging the end of the 60’s and the start of the 1970’s , recorded at Muscle Shoals studio and on the Roliing Stones Mobile studio at Stargroves in the UK remixed at Olympic Studios . This was the Stones Ninth album and the very first after being contracted to Decca since 1963. It was the first to be issued on the new Rolling Stones own label with the Tongue and Lips logo. Also Mick Taylors first recordings and the first to credit Jagger with playing Guitar. definitely one of the Stones best albums with the tracks “Brown Sugar” and the country Folk ballad “Wild Horses” the souful blues cover of “I Gotta Move”, “Sister Morphine”the sweeping ballad “Moonlight Mile” on which Ry Cooder played Slide guitar, arranger Paul Buckmaster added strings to two songs. and the cover art shot by the infamous Andy Warhol. .
