Yep Rock is delighted to announce Robyn Hitchcock’s new video “Autumn Sunglasses” Starring Gillian Welch and shot on location in East Nashville, the video was devised, directed, filmed and edited by Jeremy Dylan.

Of the video, Hitchcock offers, “This song was written and set in Sydney, but the mood was just right this September in East Nashville. Gillian Welch, Harlowe Quinn from the 5-Spot (glimpsed onstage there with his band Prayer Flags), and Tubby my Scottish Fold cat are all local characters; they helped Jeremy Dylan and I crystallize the feel of summer turning to autumn here in Tennessee.”

Robyn Rowan Hitchcock is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. While primarily a vocalist and guitarist, he also plays harmonica, piano and bass guitar.

Coming to prominence in the late 1970s with The Soft Boys, Hitchcock afterward launched a prolific solo career. His musical and lyrical styles have been influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, John Lennon and Syd Barrett. Hitchcock’s lyrics tend to include surrealism, comedic elements, characterisations of English eccentrics, and melancholy depictions of everyday life.

He was signed to two major American labels (A&M Records, then Warner Bros. over the course of the 1980s and ’90s, but mainstream success has been limited. He has maintained a loyal cult following and has often earned strong critical reviews over a steady stream of excellent album releases and live performances.




The Soft Boys band member Robyn Hitchcock considered by many to be among the best  english singer songwriters, In 1977 he and some friends formed the band ” The Soft Boys “, a short lived band with Beatles type pop melodies and with Syd Barrett flashes. The Debut album released in 1980 titled “A Can Of Bees” was quickly followed by the classic “Underwater Moonlight” featuring the opening track ” I Wanna Destroy You”  they became a cult band, followed by and cited by bands like REM.
