Their own mix of musical spells are not unlike those woven in the 1960’s. With asound like seeds turning into flowers they bring gifts for the Goddess of magical powers.

The Dandelion’s debut 2013 release “Strange Case Of The Dandelion” a 13 track album of Musical Spells. The MURLOCS – ” Adolescence “

Melbourne five piece The Murlocs are in the midst of perhaps their biggest year yet. From the earlier release of their breakthrough single “Adolescence”, the band toured the country, bringing their bluesy-psych rock tunes with them.  Admittedly, I listened because of their connections with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, but from the first song I heard any comparison in my mind was dismissed immediately.

The band have supported Ty Segall, Mac DeMarco and of course their brethern King Gizz, and their live show has grown into an all out jam you can’t help but dance to. From their earnest and relatable lyrics, blues sensibilities and lead singer Ambrose Kenny-Smith’s attention grabbing voice and second to none harmonica skills, they have quickly become a force to be reckoned with in Australia, and one of my favourite bands to try and catch live.

Whilst the Murlocs were on their Adolescence tour, the quintet dropped in at our Bedlam Records to do a live take of the track, and now have the first look at that performance! Considering they’re now taking a bit of time off until the end of the year after performing at each leg of King Gizzard’s Gizzfest, the live video is even more special.  jump on their album Loopholes out now and keep your eyes firmly fixed on The Murlocs – I am predicting even bigger things to come!

Sydney neo-psychedelic outfit The Laurels have just dropped the newest track “Zodiac K” straight off their upcoming second album . The latest song sees the band team up with the Aussie band Decoder Ring‘s member Jasper Fenton, who provides drums in the catchy tune.

While fans eagerly await new material from the four-piece band, they will delighted to hear the boys will be hitting the road this August for a co-headline tour with frontman of fellow psychedelic act, Pond, Nicholas Allbrook.

Late last year, Britain’s Fuzz Club Records launched a split single series, which brings together an established heavyweight act and a fresh-faced riser on one extremely limited colored 10-inch vinyl. For the fifth entry in the series, Italian upstarts Sonic Jesus will have “Lost Reprise” featured as the B-side to The Black Angels’ “Molly Moves My Generation”.

While much of The Black Angels’ Clear Lake Forest EP from earlier this year showcased sun-soaked psych, this new track is a much darker affair. There’s plenty of pounding drum beating a hurried escape through the knotted forest of echoing guitar wails. But that’s only the first third of the track; the final acts of the song will send you straight towards mental collapse.

The Black Angels/Sonic Jesus split single is out December 15th and will be available for purchase at the Fuzz Club online store. Future singles will see contributions from Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Lee Ranaldo.
