BARN ON THE FARM’s first year started in 2010 and since then this uniquely atmospheric small festival held in two barns on a Gloucester farm has had incredible success and with such impressive line-ups with Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran Bastille and Gabrielle Aplin. With the best of rising stars in Indie Folk, Acoustic and contemporary singer songwriters and the added indie or Synth rock bands on the line up it looks a superb weekend, the feeling you get the musicians enjoy the event as much as the festival goers.

Cut to Bruce Buffer shouting “Itttttttttttttttttt’s Timeeeeeeeeee” for us cause we need to get all this waiting over with and give you Part 2…
We started recording this album at any chance we could get, in between shows over the summer. And, after the final night on ‘The Balcony’ tour finished we were set to have some time off but couldn’t wait and didn’t think yous should have to either after the run you gave us. So, went straight in to finish the 2nd Album. We made it out in LosAngeles with a producer and hero of ours that we’ve dreamt of working since we were kids… D. SARDY…. the game-changer! This man made the songs and the albums we grew up listening to. The ones that made us want to sound like the band we are, so to go in and actually record our album together with him was a real honour and the best craic we’ve had!
Our new record is out the last Friday in May and is called ‘The Ride’ …which is a lyric from the last, and probably, my favourite tune on there. That song’s called ‘Outside’ and It just sounds absolutelyyyyymasssssssive..SideshowBob’sDrumsMate#…ARMSUP#!!!! Alongside you selling these shows out for us, this album is by far the proudest I’ve ever been about anything I’ve written and us 4 have ever done together! Can’t wait for you to hear this yknow! Started this band and I honestly can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for all of us from day 1 right up to now… you’ve been unreal! A completely different league in fact! You’ve properly changed 4 lads lives here y’know, selling out Bowls in Castlefield 8,000 people strong in 5 minutes and winning us brits and all that stuff… It’s just mad and we’ll be grafting all year to ensure things keep growing and these new gigs and new albums keep coming rapidly and in their droves!
Not long till the 2nd albums oot…. If you want to pre-order it you’ll get ‘7’ and ‘Soundcheck’ as instant downloads as soon as you do! Not bad that y’know.
U.S! Thank you for this intimate run we’ve just done! Felt like when we first started out that in those little sweat box’s!
U.K! See you in Hull Arena when we get back! What a night that’s going to be!
The album doesn’t have a name or even an actual release date yet but it’s official. The sophomore LP from British alt-rockers Catfish & the Bottlemen is one of our most anticipated records of this year. The band shared the lead single from the new record, “Soundcheck,” last week, and now the band is roaring back with a studio video (official music video still to come) for the propulsive track.
It’s a pretty good time to be Van McCann and crew. They won Best Breakthrough Artist at last night’s BRIT Awards (beating out a bevy of talented musicians including James Bay, Jess Glynne, and Years & Years. In fact, that category was a who’s who of some of the best bands that we’ve shot in the last year and a half). And it’s only appropriate that a band with a lead single called “Soundcheck” would make a studio video for the track that culminates in its namesake.
Catfish and the Bottlemen singer Van McCann is not a man unduly burdened with doubts about his immediate future, and with good reason. His band’s successes have all come from winning hearts in every audience they’ve played to – including those standing stunned in front of the BBC Introducing stage at last year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend in Glasgow, which also lead to them winning the BBC Introducing trophy at the first ever BBC Music Awards – and they really like to play.
Not that it’s all about the gigs. Each Catfish single – all gifted with a one-word title, to make their set-lists nice and neat – has been greeted like an old friend by Zane Lowe and his Hottest Record in the World, and then playlisted across Radio 1.
Van McCann doing what he does best. Catfish and the Bottlemen are a Welsh indie rock band that formed in Llandudno, North Wales. Currently enjoying touring Australia, playing bigger venues and perhaps the best new band from last year after a lots of shows and pure great songwriting
Welsh indie rockers Catfish & The Bottlemen cover The Killers ‘Read My Mind’, with just a little bit of R Kelly ‘Ignition’, for Australian station triple j’s Like A Version.
Our Bondy got given a video camera for Christmas so we thought we’d let him do some fly on the walling and post some weekly video tour diaries giving you an insight to whats been happening and along with a little blog with what stuffs ganning oooon…. We’re going to try and do this with a video every wednesday so keep an eye out on here.
A North Wales band poised to take the States by storm say it was “an absolute dream” to appear on an iconic late-night chat show.
Llandudno’s Catfish and the Bottlemen performed on the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night. The band, who won the BBC Introducing gong at the corporation’s Music Awards in December, will release their debut album titled “Balcony” in the US on Tuesday, before embarking on a major American tour in February .
Speaking after the Letterman performance, lead singerVan McCann said: “It was an absolute dream come true for us. We used to stay up dead late and watch when it was on ITV2 before school the next day. Loads of our favourite bands have done it. It was an absolute honour.” The band performed their single “Kathleen” on the show, which has launched the American careers of Adele and Ed Sheeran. Last year, Catfish and the Bottlemen received funding through the British Phonographic Industry’s Music Industry Growth Scheme to help them break into the US market.
Whilst the rest of his band were in soundcheck, the ultra charismatic Van McCann gave us this super passionate rendition of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s hit single “Cocoon”
