Death Bells from Sydney Australia’s are dreampop newcomers, the band plead with fervent intensity their lovesick confusion with their latest track “Only You”. The song’s unrelenting melody is like a cold wind on a slumbered face which is perfectly represented by the hazy frore of the single’s accompanying music video—directed by Jai Love.

This is hands down among the best song’s you will hear this month—capturing an 1980’s romanticism like that found in the music of Scotland’s Lowlife mixed with the songwriting found in more recent bands such as Sweden’s The Mary-Onettes.

The Kite String Tangle  the self-titled debut album was produced over a three-year period and saw the bedroom producer move his recording process into a studio with live drums, strings, horns and more. Written, performed and self-produced, the album is mixed by Grammy Award Winning Engineer Eric J Dubowsky (Flume, Flight Facilities, SAFIA) .

The triple threat producer, vocalist and songwriter made waves with his single ‘Given The Chance’, a track that reached Gold status in Australia, ‘Arcadia’, ‘Stone Cold’ and ‘What If’ followed; tracks that by now – are ubiquitous to the Australian music landscape. FOAM are a three-piece garage rock band from Perth, WA. Their heavy live performances deliver a filthy wall of sound reminiscent of the alternative rock boom of the late 80’s/early 90’s. With influences including Nirvana, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, The Breeders, The Drones and anything Steve Albini, FOAM tread the line between infectious melody and vicious punk.

With two albums to their names, Perth rockers Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have also shared the stage with King Gizzard, Dune Rats, Black Mountain and Skegss. Band member Jack McEwan says the band started out as my uni-branding project. I wanted it to sound absurd and nonsensical, but as colourful as possible so I could create some outlandish designs. ‘High Visceral, Pt. 2’ is the current album… still enjoying this cycle of songs or have you guys moved on to the next batch of tracks for the back catalogue?
For our live set, we mix up between tracks from ‘Part One’ and ‘Two’ and throw in a couple of b-sides from those albums. We’ve started working on new material and the third album is in the works.

I’ve been playing a lot of acoustic guitar lately and meandering around this Grizzly Bear emotional stuff. It’s not going on the third album and I don’t really know what to use them for as it would be weird cutting out of ‘Ergophobia’ and then hearing harps and flutters of flutes.

Absolutely outstanding records…not a bad song on either part 1 or 2. Don’t be put off by the admittedly strange name…maybe something in the Perth water? One of the best records of 2017

Iconic Melbourne psych rock band Beaches make a welcome return after a fairly lengthy hiatus with more of the arty guitar-driven psych we love them for. ‘Void’ chugs along on a motorik rhythm, building ever so slightly until they really put the foot down for the last eight. Their imminent third album “Second of Spring” – a double LP, no less – means we’ll be hearing a lot more of them soon.

According to the band: “Void” is a conversation between two people, who discuss a prolonged absence, a temporary disappearance into a space of emptiness. We wrote Void in our rehearsal space in Reservoir (Melbourne) during a prolific period of song writing. It was produced by John Lee (Phaedra Studios), who also plays synthesiser on this track. Ali and Karla are on vocals. There is a restrained interaction between them, tempered by the motorik drive of the instrumentation.”

Aussie synth pop artist Alex Cameron has been steadily building a profile since his celebrated debut solo LP “Jumping the Shark” was issued as a free download on his website in 2013.
Receiving a huge boost via a release through respected indie label Secretly Canadian (The War On Drugs, Jens Lekman) last August, Cameron was invited to support US alt. rock duo Foxygen after the band described his live show as ‘One of the most memorable, moving concerts I have or will ever witness’.
An engaging, idiosyncratic performer, backed by saxophonist Roy Molloy, Cameron supported The Killers at their Hyde Park gig this Summer.
Approvingly described by US punk icon Henry Rollins as being ‘Right out of a David Lynch hell dream!’ Pitchfork stated ‘Cameron’s efficient, minimal compositions create the type of songs that penetrate deeply and linger in your consciousness long after you’ve stopped listening to them’.

The project of Melbourne-based Tanya Batt immediately draws delicious shoe gaze comparisons to the likes of Mazzy StarHer sound is intricately layered with a bass backdrop that ties it all together. We love its blend of mellow rock and personal storytelling. She explains the track like this: “Little White Lies just came out all at once, it’s about how pretty much every interaction with anyone seems to be filled with these little white lies, whether it’s just easier to reply ‘Good’ when someone asks you how you are, or being late and making up a little white lie to cover your back. The world is filled with them and I don’t think we even realise we are doing it anymore, whether it’s a stranger or someone close to you, it just happens..” BATTS has been garnering a lot of fans lately within the music community and will only continue to do so with her beautifully crafted sound.

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve signed to Roll Call records Australia’s High Tropics, Fronted by Josh Stewart (formerly of The Ninjas), the band emerges today with the release of their debut single, ’15 Years’, as well as an accompanying music video, .

It sounds “Kinda like old school The Strokes mixed with current day Violent Soho, it’s all fuzzy guitars, driving bass and thumping drums. Elegant in its simplicity, ’15 Years’ is cracking debut from a band we reckon are gonna do some very good things, very quickly, on the Aussie rock’n’roll scene. Listen to ’15 Years’ below,

All Our Exes Live in Texas is a fantasy draft of Sydney musical talent – Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts & Georgia Mooney – all beautiful performers in their own right, here combining in four-part folk heaven.

On mandolin, ukulele, accordion and guitar, All Our Exes Live in Texas deliver tunes that are clearly crafted with taste, care and skill in the context of a spontaneous, playful and utterly charming live show. With four songwriters and four unique voices, All Our Exes Live in Texas make music that is refreshingly different, drawing influence from traditional four-part harmony to create a brand new type of modern folk. Fair warning: You’ll need your charisma sunnies or you’ll walk out of the building a little bit in love.

Watching All Our Exes Live In Texas transform from a one-off coming together of Sydney singer-songwriters a few years ago to the musical powerhouse they are today has been just a joy. When their debut album “When We Fall” dropped this year fans were rewarded with some fine fine songwriting, pitch perfect production and a true celebration of the four part harmony. Despite the disparate styles of each member’s solo work, When We Fall is a beautiful, cohesive album that demands to be listened to over and over again.
