The Hype is still relatively small but growing for this Scottish two piece band, their Lo-Fi Garage Rock sound with Stina Tweedales vocal, “Choker” is a small indie rock gem perfect chorus and a great festival song.

the Glasgow group BABY STRANGE are on the dark side musically and visually but writing good songs and making good records is their current achievement, their debut single “Pure Evil” with support slots with Palma Violets and Swim Deep, the next new single is “Distance Yourself” coupled with the track “Luver”
Glasgow duo Honeyblood have been one of my favourite bands to see this summer, their debut album was released Monday
Scottish band PAWS have just played a great set t the Deer Shed Festival in north Yorkshire, with the band clearly enjoying themselves this track taken from the KEXP radio session features the single from the new album, Youth Culture Forever.
Fatherson have put in some dates for later this year, they will be at the Cookie Jar in Leicester, Hailing from Kilmarnock but based in Glasgow where they recorded the debut album released in April “I am a Island” the band have been making huge waves on the Scottish music scene after a run of succesful EP’s. The album was met with widespread critical acclaim and stormed the charts.
The band and label worked to together to independently finance and release the record. The release was a great success and went to No.11 in the Scottish Album Chart, Top 40 in the UK Independent charts and peaked at No.5 on the iTunes alternative chart. The first single “I Like Not Knowing” received airplay throughout BBC Radio 1 with support from Dj’s such as Greg James, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Ally McCrae.
The band then toured throughout the UK pulling their biggest audiences to date, culminating in a sold out show at Glasgow’s Arches.
Fatherson have played at festivals throughout the UK…
Glasgow duo Honeyblood have been one of my favourite new bands this year with superb songs, great playing and a huge sound for just the two girls Shona McVicar on drums and Stina Tweeddale on guitars, Ive caught them live several times and the songs just got better, so the anticpation for the debut album is exceeded, released on Fat Cat Records and recorded in just 10 days with the Nationals producer Peter Katis studio in Connecticut USA last November its such an accomplished listen with the favourites from the live set and with strong Riffs throughout, the guitars to the fore the opener “Fall Forever” to the punkish “Killer Bangs” and the superb lyric to “Super Rat” these are all Indie Pop gems and the more poppy “I’d Rather Be Anywhere But Here” it also has the bands classic track “Bud” .
another track from the band I have seen more times this year than anyone else and a band that just keep getting better great songs superbly played and live a huge sound from this Glasgow band
Alternative Rock band PAWS from Glasgow and a track from the hook laden guitar band “COKEFLOAT”
