Life is full of fleeting moments: our new album Wild Nights is about recognising and enjoying these moments; it’s about living for today and feeling alive. We shared a lot of wild nights whilst making our new album

Faith Vernon – lead vocals & guitar

Anna Donigan – bass
Kyoko Swan – keyboards
Sophie Galpin – drums

Ridiculously rad Manchester, UK, quartet PINS are back with a new, second album, “Wild Nights”, out next month and we’re stoked to premiere the video for current single “Young Girls.” Sonically it’s indie-pop edged out with a feeling of questioning melancholy, and just a smidgen of menace, and from the second they hit the screen you wanna be part of their gang. We can barely keep up with these Manchester girls, who continue to make the city that birthed them turn into that proud, motherly type. Following a recent tour in the States with Sleater Kinney, the four-piece post-punk outfit is moving fast and strong through the international music circuit, and we couldn’t be prouder.

It’s not just that they look good—Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane is a firm fan—but even when they’re lazing listlessly on a bed, or staring impassively down the barrel of the lens, or, you know, casually wiping blood off a baseball bat, they’ve got a fall-in-line-and-don’t-fuck-with-us attitude that’s magnetic.

“Filmed in Manchester and at favourite look out point ‘The Edge’ in Alderly Edge,” explain PINS. “The video is the tale of four girls, thick as thieves. They are dreamers, they are bold and they are bonded by a secret. All for one and one for all.”
Meanwhile, director Amy Watson, had a very specific vision for this short: “I wanted to play around with the usual ‘girls just wanna have fun’ type of music video. You know, friendship, solidarity, road trips and all the usual tropes of girly bonding. I wanted to take that wholesomeness and push it to a weird place.”

Like we said, don’t mess with these young girls.

PINS have unveiled the B-side to their new 7” single release ‘Too Little Too Late’. ‘Hybrid Moments’ is a Misfits cover, which the band describes as “a simple and perfect pop song! We started to play it live to make everyone dance, we recorded it with Part Time Punks and gave it a PINS stamp with lots of choir girl harmonies.”

The track was mixed by Josiah Mazzaschi and is available for you  PINS’ new album Wild Nights is due out on June 9th via Bella Union Records.

Manchester four-piece PINS have announced the release of their new album “Wild Nights” on 8th June through Bella Union Records . The first 7″ single from the album, “Too Little Too Late”, will precede it on 30th March. The perfect taster for the album,  it opens with a fearless drumbeat and heavy bassline before slowing into a sparse momentary instrumental. The track then reverts back to Faith Vern’s alluring vocal before finally stampeding heavily into a fuzzed up sound clash of guitars and drums. It is our favourite PINS track so far…watch the super slow motion video

Pins play  the song “House of Love” live at the Eagle Inn, Salford on 27th February 2015 previewing their 2nd album due in June. The new Pins album. with the bands fearless drumbeat and bass sound, with Faith’s alluring vocal and finally the stunning clash of guitars and drums. Manchester-based PINS are a truly glorious mix of shoegaze, punk and post-punk, with singer and guitarist Faith Holgate at times veering towards Patti Smith and then back to Karen O. last year’s album Girls Like Us, certainly straddles between shoegaze and punk, they are  is wonderfully raw and visceral. Savages would struggle to out-do this band.

PINS look the part and you sense they’re certainly beginning to know this. Already on Bella Union, they’re tantalisingly close to breaking through, with the soon-to-begin tour alongside The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion a massive indication of this. No, it shouldn’t be long now. They’re a real privilege to see.

Noir pop quartet PINS premiere a teaser video for their upcoming tour, hinting at a summer follow up their 2013 debut “Girls Like Us.”

Speaking about the new album (title to be revealed), singer/guitarist Faith Holgate said: “We recorded our second album under the desert sky in Joshua Tree at Rancho De La Luna, with Dave Catching on hand like some sort of guru guiding us, and we were able to make a record that we couldn’t be more proud of.

“We will be performing a live preview of the record in February and, of course, we have a few tricks up our sleeves to make the shows extra special.”

Pins, already, and a lot of drama : Pins are exactly the sort of group the music papers would have been fighting over more than 20 years ago. Make that more than 25 years ago: they’re very C86, are Pins. They’re atypically Mancunian, that’s for sure. There are no forays into avant-funk or pop trance. If anything, if you heard them without knowing where they were from, you’d swear they were a band from Brooklyn , All Velvets drones with a sprinkle of Spectoresque shimmer, they recall Crystal Stilts and Vivian Girls et al,

This is highly referential/reverential stuff from four girls who have clearly done their research. They haven’t delved too deeply into history: the look (pure Warhol’s Factory meets late-70s CBGBs/Bowery) is as obvious as the sound, with the usual signifiers of cool. Pins are brand new with the usual farrago of fuzz, echo, sustain, reverb and delay, the girls’ voices come as though from a dream,They’re the most Brooklyn band ever to come from Manchester.

Manchester band PINS perform ‘Get With Me’ live at Fred Perry Sub-Sonic Live, on 27th Nov 2014 at The Garage, Islington, London, opening for The Fall.

stinging guitars lots of Fuzz, Echo, Sustain, reverb and Delay, plus tribal drums this Manchester all girl band are one of the best live bands this year Pins are very C86 and typically what you would expect from a Manchester band and if they had not come from Manchester it should have been Brooklyn.
