Very excited to welcome the wonderful ME REX to Big Scary Monsters Record’s.

Initially the brainchild of Myles McCabe, the band has recently expanded to a four piece with the additions of Phoebe Cross (Happy Accidents/Cheerbleederz), Rich Mandell (Happy Accidents) and Kathryn Woods (Fresh/Cheerbleederz). Now they present their new EP, “Triceratops”, which is released on 28th August.

FRESH – ” Withdraw “

The British band’s new album “Withdraw” definitely ups the ante from their past work, while maintaining their appeal. That wonderfully sludgy riff that serves as the anchor of the title-track will leave you hitting the repeat button, while the jangle-pop of “Nervous Energy” and the playful pop-punk glide of “Going to Brighton” in undeniable. “No Thanks” sounds like it has startling pop-radio crossover potential while “New Girl” is a pristine dose of thought-provoking, well-plucked indie rock. Front-woman Kathryn Woods’ lyrics keep their bite no matter what the backdrop. This record is brisk but feels thick with details. The lyrics go straight through my chest like laser beams, and the sound is so fun and joyous.

Phoebe, Sophie and I all play in other bands, but we run in the same circlesPhoebe and I have toured together as Happy Accidents and Fresh, and Sophie is in a band called Finish Flag too, but we played in a band together briefly that was called Don’t Die (Dean from Doe’s project). Because we’re all the only women in our main bands, we decided to make a band that explores being women together.
“All our writing has been collaborative and quite spontaneous, and because we’re friends first and foremost, it all feels very natural and easy. We just want to have fun—that’s why we’re doing it! Our songs are vulnerable, sometimes quiet and sometimes loud. We’re writing and making music together without any expectations and it feels very freeing.”

Just signed to Alcopop! Records London indie-punk trio Cheerbleederz and will release their debut EP ‘Faceplant’ on 24th September 2018,
