October 25th 1968 saw the release of the third Hendrix album, Electric Ladyland a double album and produced by Jimi Hendrix, described as one of the best double albums released in rock music recorded at Olympic Studios in London and the Record Plant in New York City between July and December in 1967 and April to August in 1968. the album is amixture of sounds of Blues Rock, Hard Rock and Psychedelia sonically speaking the sounds were ahead of their time with Hendrix searching for new sounds with its musical vision  . The album included a Bob Dylan song “All Along The Watchtower”  which became the  Experience’s biggest selling single.

One of the most important music festivals and music events in popular history and the event that helped coin the phrase “THE SUMMER OF LOVE” it also concluded with the first major appearance of JIMI HENDRIX, The WHO and Indian sitar musician Ravi Shankar psychedelic band MOBY GRAPE………also appearing at the festival were The Association, Lou Rawls, ERIC BURDON and the Animals, plus SIMON and GARFUNKEL and the first big appearnce of JANIS JOPLIN and bought the introduction to white audiences the soul of OTIS REDDING.

The Troggs took this song to number two in the UK charts in 1966 and a number one slot in the USA, written by a New York songwriter Chip Taylor the B side was the song “A Girl Like You” originally recorded by The Wild Ones, possibly the song was made even more famous by the Jimi Hendrix performance at Montery in 1967, but the song has been covered by countless bands
