Im so glad there is something new from the Edinburgh band BROKEN RECORDS, the EP “Toska” the raw power of this band featuring Jamie Sutherlands Vocals in one of Scotland’s finest bands, songs rooted in the folk tradition with accomplished playing featuring piano, strings and percussion.

BEARS DEN put on a fantastic sets of songs at the Bodega Social in Nottingham previously, playing to a sell out crowd they played most of the songs covering the three EP’s and a few new songs, with the drummer playing various guitars drums keyboards and help from Markus an interim band member the vocals are sublime at all times Which brings us to their cover of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”… But “Hold On, We’re Going Home” is so un-Drake-ish, that it makes perfect sense that Bear’s Den covering the song. Drake should take notes.

The second album from the wonderful talented Blue Rose Code  due anytime now this track has a sort of African chant and recall to the vibe , Blue Rose Code will be playing at the Cookie Jar in Leicester

I first heard this album “LONESOME DREAMS” from Lord Huron which was primarily a solo project of Ben Schneider early last year probably via the Songsforaday.com site its am immediate grower couldn’t stop playing the album . its full of mid west imagery beautifully sung from a superb band of musicians. The band have had three EP’s to date.
