On Jools Holland show last night Sharon Van Etten American singer songwriter from Brooklyn perfomed the song “I Know” solo on piano, Van Etten has a new album “Are We There” released in May this year.

Off the forthcoming album “EIGHT HOUSES” the bands third album and the first track to be released as a single, SHE KEEPS BEES with a gorgeous and hypnotic melodies, the Washington DC band now residing in Brooklyn are a duo of Jessica Larrabee who plays guitar and sings with Andy Laplant playing drums formed in 2006.  Sharon Van Etten added backing vocals on a couple of tracks.

From the upcoming album “Daggers” recorded in Los Angeles to be released on Downtown Records, due in late October the Brooklyn outfit EX-COPS  Amalie Bruun and Brian who co wrote a couple of songs with Ariel Pink, also on backing vocals is the Germs drummer Don Bollen, the album is  produced by Billy Corgan . The band go on tour as support with the DumDum Girls. Check out the new video as well for the song “Black Soap”

 

 

Parquet Courts are one of my Favourite guitar bands, their live guitar sound they acheive is stunning, this track recorded at the Sugar Hill Club july 11th 2014, A track taken from the “Sunbathing Animal” album

the Brooklyn based band Nude Beach have their third album titled “77” due out 21st October through Don Giovani Records its a double album running at over 80 minutes long the band are a shimmering power pop trio, this track “See My Way” is a wildly catchy jangly pop nugget a staple in their live set, check out also tracks “I can’t Keep the Sky From Falling” and “For You”
