This is the third full release from Seattle’s Meagan Grandall, a project now 10 years old. A sweeping, symphonic expression of loss and the ache that comes with it, I have listened to this album this year at home, and in my car at the loudest possible volume while in the worst possible mood. Lemolo has been with me for many years now as a favorite, but Swansea was there for me this year. Another great collection of captivating dream pop from Meagan Grandall. The lush sounds and production are warm and welcoming, with intelligent arrangements full of varied instrumentation that never fails to impress..

Lemolo is the Seattle dream-pop band fronted by songwriter and musician Meagan Grandall. The band’s ethereal sound has garnered comparisons to Cat Power, Feist, Beach House, and Warpaint.

With help from drummer Adrian Centoni, the band has since been named one of the “Best Seattle Bands” by Seattle Magazine, was voted “Best New Band” by City Arts Magazine, and was just named one of the “Top Bands Rocking Seattle” by Seattle Magazine. Lemolo’s Impressive dreamy soundscapes and Heavenly harmonies have released multiple albums independently, and has performed continually sold out shows in Seattle and tours throughout the US and Europe.  “Sonically and melodically brilliant”.

Our new music video for “One to Love” is out now and ready for your viewing pleasure! A special thank you to KEXP for premiering the video, and Kendall Rock who filmed and directed the project.

Last year I asked my friend Kendall if she wanted to make a sailing music video with me. Sailing has always been a big part of my life, and it even inspired the title of my latest record, Red Right Return . The joy that I feel when I write music is the same joy that I feel when I’m sailing. And for years I’ve wanted to make a music video that shares both of my true loves.

This was a very special project to make, because it was filmed in my hometown of Poulsbo, WA and features many of the locations that most inspire me and my music. From Indianola, to Fort Worden, to Liberty Bay, to Lemolo Shore Drive itself, this video captures the magic of sailing in the place that I call home. KEXP describes the video as an “insight into the band’s psyche,” and I think that is spot on. I’m thrilled with the way this came together, and I hope you enjoy this very personal story.
