Laetitia Tamko was born in Cameroon, but moved to New York in her teens and her music is filled gorgeous ruminations on where exactly she fits into this mess of life. A first listen to the album opener, “Embers,” for example, showcases what feels like a natural echo in Tamko’s voice, which serves as a spiritual guide through the rest of the album’s rattling drums and inquisitive distortion
