We’re always in the mood for tight, sugar-glazed indie pop around these parts, but London’s Gengahr offer something more, something more akin to sun-kissed sadness.

Formerly known as RES, Gengahr released the foot-tapping sun-kissed gem “She’s A Witch” a few months ago as a free demo, and now the band are back with two more “Haunter” and the song “Bathed In Light” the track that made more people aware of the band was the track  –”Fill My Gums With Blood”. Fill My Gums With Blood sees the sweet vocals with an almost funk-derived rhythm and stripped back guitars that could be all sunshine and gloss, but there’s an sadness in the underlying nature of the track that for some reason reminded my of the late, great Elliott Smith.
