If you were still wondering why Robert Plant isn’t entertaining the idea of another Led Zeppelin reunion, this album provided a definitive answer. Plant’s too busy expanding on his own solo ventures. He took the nascent explorations on 2005’s deeply underrated ‘Mighty ReArranger’ even further here, combining the bedrock influences of folk and Delta blues with ever-more far-flung sounds. When it was over, ‘Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar’ had outlined a muse without borders, gave no quarter to his oldest fans’ built-in expectations, and pushed with everything Plant could muster into places of remarkable scope and delicious intrigue.

Robert Plant continues to show no interest in playing any more Led Zeppelin reunion shows. He would rather just continue to crank out meditative rock songs like “Rainbow” which is the lead single from his new solo album “Lullaby and The Ceaseless Roar,  But he didn’t exactly put a ton of work into the “Rainbow” video. The clip is a dreamlike CGI montage of stars and equations and Science Stuff, with Plant’s voice only occasionally flickering on a passing screen. The album is out now on Nonesuch Records. Also,  Plant recently told a fan that he’d be interested in working with Jack White , Plant was quoted as saying  “I love Jack White’s buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons. I’d be happy to make a single with him.” Also featured is a live version taken from the Hydrogen Music Festival In Padova

On 28 September, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters closed out the Nonesuch Records 50th Anniversary showcase at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Now, for a limited time, fans can re-live the entire thrilling performance over at NPR.

NPR said of the show, “Robert Plant was just brilliant in Brooklyn on Sept. 28th. Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters played a stunning set of music that did what Robert Plant does best: mixing up American blues, British rock, North African rhythms and even some electronica with that voice, still filled with passion after all these years.”

this was broadcast on a live stream on the internet that’s why I think it stutters and video doesn’t match but the audio quality is great…..
