Talk to anyone about Hater and you’ll soon realised how special they are. The Malmö four-piece (Caroline Landahl, Måns Leonartsson, Adam Agace and Lukas Thomasson) only released their debut EP, “Radius”, last summer, but it was clear to anyone who heard those three songs of sharp, crystalline indie that they’d captured something precious in them.

We have already mentioned the band before but its great to premiere another track from the Indie band Sweden’s Hater  , taken from the group’s wonderful forthcoming LP “You Tried”, its due out next monthon the Stockholm label PNKSLM Recordings. Like the previous singles from the new record  “Mental Haven” Had It All and now “Cry Later” is a very good lovelorn indie-pop song that’s elevated to greatness by Caroline Landahl‘s gorgeous, pining vocals, which radiate with a warmth and fragile strength that destroys all of the feels every time. “You Tried” is out 10th March.

Digitally released Hater’s debut EP “Radius” earlier this year to critical acclaim, which is also included for the first time pressed to 7″ vinyl in this Limited Edition Deluxe Package. Only 50 of these packages are available, which also includes the exclusive T-shirt, designed by Caroline, the band’s lead singer. Hater are from Malmö, Sweden.

It takes something very special to get us this psyched about indie pop but in Hater’s case, that is the raw emotional heft of frontwoman Caroline Landahl‘s gorgeous, achingly bittersweet vocals, perpetually swaying between comforting and devastating.
“Lead single “Mental Haven” is awash with chiming guitar chords and shimmering synth embellishments, an old-school rock song shrouded in indie-pop softness. Second single from Hater’s debut LP You Tried, out March 10th via PNKSLM Recordings.

“if Real Estate lived in the cooler part of town” – Buzzfeed
“With echoes of Wild Nothing and similarly hazy purveyors of skewed, dreamy pop music, Melt still stands as one of the best debuts to wrap itself around our ears and hearts in 2015.” – GoldFlakePaint
“Euphoric almost to an extreme, the group’s characteristic sound is a flight of sun-kissed freedom, exactly when you need it most” – The Line of Best Fit

Ive listened to a couple of excellent tracks from the Swedish indie-pop quartet Hater’s debut EP Radius during this summer. Now they’re back with some new music in the shape of new single Mental Haven, the first from their upcoming debut LP You Triedwhich is due on 10th March 2017.

Mental Haven is full of chiming guitar chords and shimmering synth embellishments, Its an old-school rock song shrouded in indie-pop softness” along with the urgency of their debut tracks, it has  both emotion and heart. We suspect fans of Alvvays to the Pretenders will find something to like
