Ahead of their upcoming self-titled debut LP, Weaves have shared their self-directed video for ‘One More’. Shot in New Mexico, with Jasmyn working a pink dressing gown and gold pom-poms it captures the visceral energy of the song and the band . There’s something nearly unhinged about Weaves‘ music. Some of that is in the frenetic guitar playing of Morgan Waters and the way it contrasts with the swaying-in-the-breeze feel of singer Jasmyn Burke. But then it can all turn upside-down in a hurry — the guitar becomes almost lyrical as Burke sings, All the while, the rhythm section jitters and shakes, or you may find Jasmyn Burke flat on the floor, singing toward the ceiling.

A Toronto-based art and pop project, Weaves are a young band with just one EP and a debut album , That album has already become a favorite of mine: The group has an eagerness to try on new sounds while always remaining playful and quirky — sometimes loud, sometimes gentle and always a trip. Obe of the most interesting bands I’ve seen for awhile. The band performed two great set at End Of the Road Festival the second was a late night set probally one of the best of the festival.

From Haley Bonar’s new full length, Impossible Dream, coming August 5th, 2016 on GNDWIRE/Thirty Tigers (N. America) and Memphis Industries (UK, EU).

Haley Bonar was born in the excellently named Brandon, Manitoba and raised in the even better named, Rapid City, South Dakota. However her musical journey really begins in Duluth, Minessota, when, whilst playing a local club, Haley was spotted by Low’s Alan Sparhawk; a week and a spot opening for Low on a national tour later, and Haley quit being a college student and became an ambitious musical drop-out. All of which might go some way to explaining why Haley has called her latest album, Impossible Dream.

This week has not only seen Haley confirm details of the release of her next album, but she’s also shared it’s first single, “I Can Change”. The song is fantastic, a blur of rolling toms, affected guitar chords and Haley’s stunning, Martha Wainwright-like vocal. The song deals with the universal themes of having to adapt to fit into the world around you, and how ultimately happiness can be found just by accepting your own personal truth, Haley singing, “I could be so happy, if I let myself be happy, but I’m too busy behaving for a crowd”. Emotive subject matter, delivered with an emotional honesty and a deftness of musical touch, what’s not to like?

The striking, warped pop of Candy is the latest track to be shared from Weaves’forthcoming self-titled debut LP.

Encapsulating the Canadian band’s high-wire approach to  songwriting the track is, according to singer Jasmyn Burke, one of her earliest collaborations with guitarist Morgan Waters and remains one of her favourites.

“Candy” is the second single from Weaves‘ debut album out June 17th, 2016 via Kanine (US), Buzz (CAN) & Memphis Industries (ROW)

They’ve also announced a massive UK tour for the summer

Following the release of their newest album “O Shudder, released by Memphis Industries earlier this week, Dutch Uncles have recently shared their quirky music video for their new single, “Decided Knowledge.”.
The video, directed by Plastic Zoo, stars a puppet version of lead singer Duncan Wallis, or more aptly dubbed, “Muncan.” “Muncan” will undoubtedly elicit a few chuckles as he mimics the real life Wallis’ dance moves, lip-syncs, and pops up all over the Welsh coastal town of Llandudno. The song itself is undeniably catchy and highly reminiscent of classic, dance-y ’80s pop.
are currently under way on their “In N Out Store Tour” with the following U.K. dates still left to play:

February 28 – Jumbo Records, Leeds outstore at A Nation of Shopkeepers
March 1 – Pop Recs Ltd, Sunderland

Additionally, Dutch Uncles have a busy schedule of regular U.K. gigs lined up this Spring:

26 March 2015 – The Sugarmill, Stoke
27 March 2015 – The Ritz, Manchester
10 April 2015 – Koko, London
24 April 2015 – Belfast, Limelight 2
25 April 2015 – Dublin, Workman’s Club

Dutch Uncles will release their fourth studio LP, “O Shudder”, at the end of the month, and we’ve already heard three of the record’s songs, “Drips,” “Decided Knowledge,” and “In N Out.” Today, the Manchester-based band dropped a fourth single, which means that we will have heard nearly half of the 11-track album prior to its release date. “Be Right Back” is both fidgety and soulful, and its crowning moment arrives about a minute in when lead vocalist Duncan Wallis yelps the word “escalator.” The way he emphasizes the first “e” is inexplicably satisfying.

Dutch Uncles new release album titled “O Shudder” is the follow-up to “Out of Touch in the Wild”, which was released in January 2013. The five-piece, who have previously supported acts including Paramore and Everything Everything on tour, will mark the album’s release with their largest UK and Ireland shows to date in March and April. Dutch Uncles will perform at the following venues:

March 26 – Stoke, Sugarmill
March 27 – Manchester, The Ritz
April 10 – London, Koko
April 24 – Belfast, Limelight 2
April 25 – Dublin, Workman’s Club

“O Shudder” by Dutch Uncles is out on February 23rd through Memphis Industries.

Leeds-based indie rock super-group featuring members of Hookworms, Sky Larkin, Komakino and You Animals.

Menace Beach were formed by core members Ryan Needham (formerly the lead singer of Derby band Komakino) and Liza Violet (currently of Department M) in 2012. Although the band have a revolving cast of musicians, it has invariably included Nestor Matthews of Sky Larkin, Matt Spalding of You Animals and MJ of Hookworms. They have also played with Robert Lee of Pulled Apart By Horses and Paul Draper of Mansun, who provided backing vocals and guitar on their BBC Radio 6 Music Marc Riley session. As a consequence of their notable members, the band have been called a supergroup. Menace Beach have released on Too Pure and French label Desire, but are currently signed to Memphis Industries; they are set to release a debut album with them in late 2014. They are currently produced by MJ of Hookworms at his Suburban Home Studio.

Leeds-based fuzz-rockers Menace Beach have been floating around here and there throughout 2014, steadily building up a reputation that that has led to their debut LPRatworld  which will be released on January 15th via Memphis Industries – becoming hugely anticipated.

Until now, there hadn’t been a full-blown tour around the UK for fans to really get their teeth stuck into, but come the end of January and the unveiling of the album, all that will change.

The band will perform in-stores in Leeds and Nottingham, and an album launch special in Kingston, before hitting the road proper at The Broadcast in Glasgow on January 25th. It all culminates with what will no doubt be a sizzling homecoming finale at Brudenell Social Club on February 1st.

What’s more, there’s also a new track for us to wrap our ears around. ‘Blue Eye’ demonstrates another string to the five-piece’s bow, taking us on an ethereal meander that embraces psychedelia and distorted balladry – this could well end up being one of the record’s most poignant sonic moments.
