Jinnwoo - Waiting For 'P' to Have a Vision

In 2014, Jinnwoo released his debut ‘Your Baby’ E.P. , a series of singles, including the E.P.’s title track, as well as ‘Solo Man’, ‘You Should Be Feeling This Elliott’ and ‘I Am, I Am, The World’s Oldest Man.’ The releases collectively garnered coverage across the music press with the likes of The Guardian Guide as well  and folk radio session all accumulating in Jinnwoo being named one of The Independent’s ‘Faces to Watch 2015’.

Jinnwoo’s charms are evident immediately on listening to his spooked folk songs. His distinctive, fragile vocal and confessional reel are laid bare on stark folk soundscapes. Laced with carefully placed and haunting string arrangements and Jinnwoo’s exceptional acoustic guitar work.

It’s a sound which allowed Jinnwoo as an unheard of new artist to work with established producers and artists such as Young Mantana? (‘Your Baby’); Gerry Diver and Alasdair Roberts (‘Solo Man’); Weikie and Malcolm Middleton (‘I Am, I Am, The World’s Oldest Man’) and Noah Georgeson and Kyla La Grange (‘You Should Be Feeling This Elliott’). All were personally sent early demos by this unique new talent and immediately agreed to collaborate.  After a year laying the finishing touches to it, Jinnwoo’s long-awaited debut album is finally set for release late 2016, preceded by the new digital single ‘Waiting For P To Have a Vision.’ The track is produced by Gerry Diver and released digitally last May via Jinnwoo’s label GFM Records.

Selected as one of the ’10 faces to watch in 2015′ by The Independent, Jinnwoois the most singular new folk talent i’ve heard in some time, His gothic folk-croak is a confessional reel unspooling from his innards, a tale of circling doom” A rising talent in the folk world, Jinnwoo has been setting hearts ablaze with his off-kilter guitarisms and distinct, emotive vocals.
Leicester’s best kept secret Jinnwoo sneaks unassumingly into view, unleashing a voice awash with waves of sorrow. His acoustic, dark–edged folk speaks directly to that part of us all which has sat forlornly on dirty doorsteps after the pubs close, trying desperately to put feelings into words.” Its a strikingly potent track full of emotion and a stripped back grace that feels completely alien to everything else around at the moment. It’s rustic and aged in influence, Sombre but beautiful.
