Indie rocker Lady Lamb, aka Aly Spaltro, returns with a new single called “We’ve Got a Good Thing Going”. The offering is her first since the release of last year’s impressive “Even in the Tremor” album. Additionally, she’s announced a new round of tour dates, including an intimate run featuring a string section.

“We’ve Got a Good Thing Goings” finds Spaltro shaking off her fears in an attempt to better appreciate her everyday life. She elaborated in a statement,

“‘We’ve Got A Good Thing Going’ was ultimately inspired by seeing a young woman bungee jump off of the side of the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. It was nearly 1am, closing time, and I was pressed against the back wall of the observatory as I watched her suit up alone with a look of total calm. It really made me reflect on my fears — my fear of living, in some cases. This song is my way of confronting my anxiety and deciding I’d like to make more of an effort to be fearless, because life and I have ‘a good thing going.’”

After a quiet and somewhat hesitant start to the track, Spaltro eventually launches into a rollicking sprint as she manages to push her anxieties to the side. “We’ve got a good thing going/ I want to be alive for the rest of my life/ To feel the gratitude in giving everything,” she sings with an inspiring conviction.

Released February 1st, 2020

“Even in the Tremor” marks Aly Spaltro’s latest full-length LP following 2015’s After and it’s a remarkable achievement because, among other things, it’s the first time in her career that Aly Spaltro is singing explicitly about herself. Between confessing a tantrum in a batting cage (Little Flaws), telling the story of her parent’s kiddie-pool baptism (Young Disciple) and singing openly about untangling her girlfriend’s wet hair (Deep Love), Even in the Tremor is deeply rooted in the people and places, extraordinary and mundane, that have shaped Spaltro into the self-determining artist she is today.

Known for her keen observations of others, Spaltro now turns her multifaceted ruminations inward; She calls out from dreams, peers into churches, has fits of rage, and struggles to get out of her head long enough to love herself and those around her. Commitment to creating only what is necessary and urgently felt is the key to appreciating Spaltro’s fearless songwriting, as emotional as it is philosophical. Even in the Tremor signifies the arrival of her most sonically soaring and brutally honest album to date.

Lady Lamb Even Tremor

Lady Lamb has announced a new album, “Even In The Tremor”, which is her first release since 2016’s Tender Warriors Club EP and first full-length since 2015’s After. The lead single, which is the title track, sees her heading in more of a kinetic art pop direction than ever before, and it comes with a truly massive chorus. “The whole idea of this new album is the push and pull between calmness and chaos, joy and anxiety, self-loathing and self-love,” main member Aly Spaltro says, and you can definitely hear that on this song. It comes with a very cool video shot outside Mexico City, directed by Erica Peplin, and you can check that out below.

The album was produced by Erin Tonkon, who worked alongside Tony Visconti on David Bowie’s Blackstar, and it features bass and piano from Benjamin Lazar Davis and drums by Jeremy Gustin (of Star Rover and Delicate Steve’s band). The album comes out April 5th via Ba Da Bing Records.

Lady Lamb is supporting the album on the previously-announced “Deep Love Tour.”Benjamin Lazar Davis will be in her band for that tour too, as will Alex Schaaf (Yellow Ostrich) on guitars/keys and Marian Li Pino (La Luz) on drums.
