I just love the band DAWES so much they are the archtypical American Band, plus Taylor Goldsmith has the most expressive voice , taken from the album “Stories Don’t End”.
Conor Oberst with First Aid Kit and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes performs a Bright Eyes song “Lau” recorded at the Haldern Festival in August for Cardinal Sessions,
CONOR OBERST set is available to stream through http://www.npr.org from this last weekends Newport Folk Festival, Oberst backed by the alt, country, rock band DAWES. with some tracks taken from the recently released album “Upside Down Mountain” and some from his back catalouge its an awesome set of songs
Roots Rock band Dawes were live at Newport Folk Festival this last weekend, formed by brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith check out last years album “Stories Don’t End”Album, they also performed a later set as Conor Oberst backing band, you can listen to their set over at http://www.npr.org
filmed brilliantly by the La Blogotheque Crew this mini documentary features some perfect covers of Johnny Cash songs
DAWES are just one of the best american bands, Taylor Goldsmith has echoes of Jackson Browne for sure in his voice, But the songs and the bands musicianship is just sublime the harmonies and structure of the songs just perfect
