From growing up in Dallas, to “studying” at Yale, and eventually moving to Nashville, music has always been a big part of Conner’s life, but it wasn’t until seeing success on the Hype Machine platform that he decided to do it full time.
His music combines lyrically and sonically to paint a vivid picture that is both ambient, yet focused. The production results in a sound much bigger than your typical singer / songwriter. Combining a wide range of influences from bluegrass to hip-hop with very eclectic instrumentation, Conner Youngblood decidedly carves out his own niche.

Following on from “Confidence”, Conner released his sophomore EP The Generation of Lift in the Fall of 2015. Conner self-produced the five-track compilation, showcasing his songwriting and knowledge of roughly 30 instruments over the course of its 18-minute run time. Since its official release on October 9th, 2015 The Generation of Lift has reached over one million streams on Spotify.

Taken from ‘Higher’ released 16th August 2017 via Counter Records.

To be fair.. I was so wasted
I was dancing recklessly.. oh, I was so dizzy
But now you’re on your own and your savior’s gone
As you trip down every virtue that you’ve ever known

For the last four years, Conner Youngblood has been putting out the sort of self-produced, nuanced electronic music that generally qualifies as “bedroom pop,” except he absolutely refuses to stay indoors. One of the first songs I ever heard by Youngblood was a track entitled “Monsters” way back in 2010, and I was fascinated and struck by the way he interpolated a banjo riff with some bombastic bass dubstep production.

Now 24, the native Texan is currently based out of Nashville. Before that, he attended Yale, He was a wrestler for tha Ivy League Team before venturing into the music industry.  Then a deal with a label fell through in 2013, He stepped back and refocused and continued to make fiercely independent music  house, folk, and indie pop. He self-released the Confidence EP in 2014. But is now following that up with a new, completely self-produced EP called The Generation Of Lift.

The full EP will be out in October.
