Wolf Alice covering “Matilda” by Alt-J in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge November 2015,

Wolf Alice stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge this morning, and they only brought a bloody entourage of string-instrument wielding sidekicks with ‘em! As well as a cello-ified version of their track ‘Freazy,’ they also covered Alt-J’s ode to Luc Besson’s film Léon.

They chose ‘Matilda’ for its ‘Mercury vibes’ apparently – a nod to the fact that Alt-J won the prize with their debut ‘An Awesome Wave’ in 2012. Wolf Alice’s own debut, ‘My Love is Cool’ is up for the prize this year,

Elsewhere on the show, the band’s drummer – and the fine mind behind ‘Swallowtail’ – Joel Amey, revealed he’ll be playing live twice at the ceremony tonight. He’s set to step in for Slaves on drums, as frontman Isaac Holman has dislocated his shoulder
