This is a song for the collective about the never-ending cycle of exploitation. One of the trickiest parts of trying to survive and thrive in late-stage capitalist America is the way that so many of us feel forced to participate. We become complicit to the systems that exploit us. We perpetuate them, and ultimately implement them onto each other. There is a pattern of feeling like you’ve finally gotten something figured out, only to learn that there is always another door to unlock, and another pocket waiting to take a percentage of your work.
Many of those in power positions act like they know what they’re talking about, but they really don’t! We are all always learning. Be wary of anyone too certain and follow your own intuition.
