Dublin four-piece Gilla Band are releasing a new album, “Pugnello,” on September 25th via Rough Trade. Now they have shared another single from it, “Alogia,”
The Gilla Band were formerly known as Girl Band, but changed their name in 2021. The band features vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner.
“Alogia” means poverty of speech linked to mental health conditions,” explains Kiely in a press release. “I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia while writing the lyrics. I thought I could just walk off the old mental illness but alas!”
The album’s first single, “Giraffe,” the band followed that up with “Placeholder” was its second single.
The band’s last album was 2022’s “Most Normal”.
