‘New Candys first featured  on The Reverb Conspiracy Vol. 3‘ back in January, describing their stand out track as follows, “Dysfunctional trip, ‘Meltdown Corp’ by New Candys from Venezia, conjures gorgeously dislocated, psych-soaked abyssal plains.”

I also wholeheartedly concurred with Levitation’s review of the same LP which stated, “Their song ‘Meltdown Corp’ it’s an absolutely jaw dropping track. In fact, I had not heard of them until this, and I was online ordering their album before the song was even over. And then I played the song again. And again.”

I too had ordered their brilliant 2012 debut LP ‘Stars Reach The Abyss‘, along with the exquisite split EP ‘Dark Love / Surf 2‘, (with Treviso’s Kill Your Boyfriend), before I had finished listening to ‘Meltdown Corp’, such was their tentacled embrace on my enraptured psyche.

First single from the album “New Candys As Medicine”. “Doped, sedated, highly pop-psychedelic and buzzing in keeping a low profile. A long walk through the desert under the burning Sun.” The New Candys album “New Candys As Medicine” will be released today on March the 16th on Minneapolis based label Picture In My Ear (vinyl, cd and digital formats) and Fuzz Club Records (deluxe vinyl). We recorded it in different studios this time, between Brescia and Treviso, we worked hard on it mostly with John Wills (original drummer/producer of Loop, now with Pumajaw) who has mixed it, Pierluigi Ballarin who has recorded the most of it and Andrea Condotta, the owner of our previous rehearsal space Spazio 55 where we added some overdubs and recorded a song.
Gianluca Zanin instead has recorded the first single “Dark Love” at Studiobeat 2 in Treviso.
