ProntoMama

Pronto Mama claim to only have six members, but it sounds like they have about 17. These guys fit an enormous amount of sounds and textures into their songs  moody horns, bright guitars, snappy drums — and yet each one comes out with brilliant execution. With their second EP, “Niche Market”, the band has refined their sound and produced a collection of five strong songs that straddle a really satisfying line between alternative and Indiepop.

This is an EP that shows growth and stability. Pronto Mama know who they are and are confident about the music that they make. It’s soft and youthful when it needs to be and punches you with surprises like shock electronic elements and jazz segments. All together, a great collection of tracks from this talented Scottish bunch.

Band-BADLUCK

You’d be right to describe Bad  Luck as pitch-perfect pop punk, but that wouldn’t completely do them complete justice. The group specializes in sunny guitar jams, great harmonies, and some of Scotland’s catchiest melodies.

Their first release, “Between Dog & Wolf”, is an all about hanging out with friends in the summer and skateboarding in the sun. It’s also an incredibly promising taste of things to come.5 tracks of awesome summery indie rock

CarsonWells

Three-piece Carson Wells are a gracefully chaotic brew of hardcore, punk, math rock, and screamo. Their debut album, WONDERKID, is sometimes just referred to as a genre all its own

The guys were gracious enough to donate their share of all Good Pack sales to the Glasgow Food Bank, raising the amount we’re able to donate from 30 percent to 40. They’re also named after Woody Harrelson’s character in No Country For Old Men, “WONDERKID features nine new songs that are tense, off-kilter, and discordant with hints of melody that serve as a great undercurrent for the band’s sound

The musical artists split 60% of every Good Pack sale, though Carson Wells has chosen to contribute their share to the foodbanks. You can also support Carson Wells directly and find more of their releases on Bandcamp.

PoorThings

Poor Things just make really fun music. This Glasgow three-piece have nailed down a DIY garage pop sound reminiscent of the best basement shows of times past. Spend a little time with that and these other 10 songs and you’ll be properly hooked. With a clear 90’s punk influence in the stroppy droning tones of the vocals and tumbling layered melodies, it is no surprise that the band are 90’s kids which have been deeply impacted by that era; and are all the better for it.”

I really like this band their sound is always great, with super riffs in the tunes, Taken from the excellent album “Omphalic”  check them out Algernon Doll aka Ewan Grant are from Scotland…… http://www.algernondoll.bandcamp.com

Algernon Doll are on one impressive streak. “Omphalic”, the group’s third LP in less than two years, is a fuzzy, noisy, poppy gem of an alternative record. Originally a solo project for frontman Ewan Grant, Algernon Doll is now a three-piece gaining enormous momentum and set to record their fourth LP with legendary audio engineer Steve Albini this month. . They reminded me of Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, early Husker Du and maybe a bit of Teenage Fanclub … The musical artists split 60% of every Good Pack sale.
