Here presented for your enjoyment a phenomenal live show from This Is The Kit, captured at the iconic Minack open-air amphitheatre on the coast in Cornwall and released by Rough Trade for RSD. Featuring tracks from the acclaimed albums “Careful Of Your Keepers”, “Off Off On” and “Moonshine Freeze”, this record captures the essence of these songs, presenting them in a new light, at least partially informed by the incredible architecture of Minack Theatre itself.
And to celebrate, we’ll be releasing a video a day of different songs that we played at the afore mentioned minack theatre gig. Today’s one is ‘hotter colder’

On 19th May 2023 This Is The Kit played a double header at the stunning Minack Theatre in Cornwall, comprising of an afternoon matinee and a night time show. Now for Record Store Day, a live recording of the evening show will be made available, marking the first live album released by This the album sees the band (including three-piece horn section) on top form, responding to the resplendent surroundings in front of a hugely appreciative audience. About the show, Kate said “Our friend Will who books shows at the excellent Cornish bank in Falmouth had the slightly ambitious idea of booking us at the Minack theatre in Cornwall.
It’s an amazing open air amphitheatre on the edge of a Cornish cliff face overlooking the sea and so it seemed like a pretty fun idea to do a gig there. And it all resulted in quite an epic day of music in a very epic setting, which we somehow had the foresight to record. And so then we decided that it might be nice to release the recording for record store day!”
The album is available on Limited Edition Seagrass Citrus vinyl, from all participating stores on 20th April (Record Store Day).
