We’re very pleased to announce “In The Shadow Of The Sun, Paul Weller & Band Live & Very Direct” – a new 31-track live album captured straight from the sound desk across this summer’s incredible run of UK shows.
Spanning The Jam, The Style Council and Paul’s solo catalogue, the record captures Paul and the band doing what they do best — live, direct and right in the moment. It was a memorable summer for Weller, who performed a huge number of outdoor shows, including at Exhibition Park in Newcastle, Fairview Park in Dublin, Pier Head in Liverpool, the Piece Hall in Halifax, and the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough.
Weller said of the upcoming release, “We hope this live recording gives justice to the experience that we and the audience felt on these tour dates. We all felt they were very special shows — all of ’em! This recording is straight off the sound board. All real, all true, more power, more love.”– Paul Weller, September 2026
The shows drew an amazing response throughout the summer:
“A compelling career-spanning set… what an outstanding show” – Uncut,“A smasher of a set” — The Arts Desk ★★★★★, “Weller still moves forward, politically engaged, musically restless, uninterested in the comfortable option” — Louder Than War
“In The Shadow Of The Sun” is available digitally Friday 2nd October
