Lucy Dacus is reissuing her debut album “No Burden” to celebrate its 10th anniversary. She’s kicking the festivities off with a bang: today, she is sharing the previously unreleased track “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye.”
“No Burden‘s” 10th anniversary reissue arrives on December 4th though . The album will be pressed on a special seaglass vinyl and preorders are ongoing. “No Burden” includes songs “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and “Strange Torpedo,” among others.
“No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye” was recorded with Adrian Olsen and Dacus’ guitarist Alan Good Parker. The song has become a favorite hidden gem among Dacus’ fans; the singer-songwriter has performed it a handful of times over the years. The song features Good Parker’s fuzzed-out guitar as Dacus sings the heart-wrenching lyrics: “I swore to myself/I would not follow your lead/So why did I get in the car every evening?”
Dacus spent her summer on tour across the United States plus on the festival circuit, including shows at Outside Lands and Newport Folk Festival. She’s concluding her tour by performing alongside Cat Power and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in a special tribute performance of Power’s album “The Greatest” on September. 13th at the Hollywood Bowl.
