Recorded over four years at various live performances, Talking Heads’ first concert album reflected the band’s evolution during the period. Starting with a radio broadcast from 1977 and ending with an expanded group playing a cover of Al Green’s “Take Me to the River” at a Central Park concert in their hometown of New York in 1980, “The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads” turned the page on the band’s earliest stage.
