Lily Seabird has shared the title track for her new LP, Lightspheres on Their Way, which is out this Friday on physical formats via Lame-O Records Regarding the new track, Seabird said: “Lightspheres” are so many things throughout this record, UFOs, memories, dreams, people, an unknown force pushing and pulling us through. Without being too specific I think in a lot of ways this song deals with the feeling of loving someone through a great distance.
“I was also thinking a lot about Brent Mydland,” she continued, “who was the keyboardist of the Grateful Dead from 1979-1990, the end of this song is really inspired by his song ‘I Will Take You Home,’ specifically the studio version which is on “Built to Last” (1989). Recording this song was really fun and figuring out the arrangement me Daniel and Rick really worked this one out together. The outro of this song is my favorite part which we completely improvised and kept.”
