Earlier this summer while on a short breather from my bigger project, I felt like recording a cover of my favourite Yo La Tengo song. Easy, I thought. But the self doubt bug got me in the studio. I had so much respect for the song. I started to record these over complicated, slightly hesitant songs. I could hear it in my vocals. So I erased everything. I love this song so much, and the guys in the band have always treated me so nice, this shouldn’t be hard. So I went back in and just sang and played the song straight from my love for it, called up my dear friend CJ Carmieri and asked him if he could arrange some of his horn redness on it. Boom. There it was. It’s out today on Anti Records.
