This follows the typical sad rock star story of drugs, alcohol, loneliness, and poverty, but with a very odd twist. Arthur converted to the Church of Latter-Day Saints.
The story picks up as Arthur, living the quiet life among people with no idea about his prior profession, prepares for a reunion gig with the New York Dolls. The film exposes some of the inner turmoil that tore the Dolls apart. This is an intriguing film, at the very least, and a must-watch for any fan of the New York Dolls.
