The Last Shadow Puppets — Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner & Miles Kane return with a follow up EP to this year’s studio album Everything You’ve Come To Expect. The EP compiles studio recordings of new versions of EYCTE tracks “Aviation” and “The Dream Synopsis” with a newly recorded version of the album track of the same name as well as covers of Leonard Cohen, Jacques Dutronc, The Fall, and Glaxo Babies performed in the band’s live sets this past year. Including “Is This What You Wanted” by Leonard Cohen which the band have released a video for. Despite having played David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream” at Glastonbury Festival and on various other tour dates, the song remains noticeably absent from the EP.
All tracks were recorded live in a single day at Future-Past Studios, Hudson NY, with the various covers having been played live during their summer tour.
Following the previously shared cover of Leonard Cohen’s Is This What You Wanted, ‘Les Cactus’ was recorded during the The Dream Synopsis EP session at Future-Past Studios, Hudson NY. The EP’s six songs include new versions of Everything You’ve Come To Expect favourites ‘Aviation’ and ‘The Dream Synopsis’ alongside further cover versions first heard live during the band’s summer touring.
The Dream Synopsis EP – released Friday 2 December, is now available to pre-order on limited edition red vinyl 12”, CD
