“One Way Glass” is the debut single for newly formed supergroup Innerspace Orchestra, a trio comprising Tom Furse (The Horrors), Cathy Lucas (Fanfarlo), and Rose Dougall (Mark Ronson, the Pipettes).
Influenced by a mutual love of shoegaze, the group pairs live drums with an array of shimmering synth tones in order to create a sound that is both rhythmically pervasive and ethereal. Prominent vocals by Dougall lead the song to its apex, wherein each chorus introduces unexpected sweeps of texture from horns and Eastern-sounding strings. It’s approachable, yet it consistently defies expectations
