Happy Birthday today (November. 3rd) to Liverpool musician & singer-songwriter Ian McNabb, known both for his work as leader and songwriter-in-chief of successful ’80s band The Icicle Works hits included 1984’s UK #15 “Love Is A Wonderful Colour”, also 1984 US #37 “Whisper to a Scream (Birds Fly)” & his critically-acclaimed solo career, beginning from the early-’90s with his 1993 debut album ‘Truth & Beauty’ to this day 2013 ‘Eclectic Warrior’, followed by the recent release ‘Krugerrands’ in 2015, he has also played with the likes of Ringo Starr, Crazy Horse, Mike Scott (of The Waterboys), Danny Thompson of folk-rock legends Pentangle, The Wild Swans & The Lightning Seeds; in 2006, after 15 years as a solo artist, Ian revived the name ‘The Icicle Works’ for periodic live performances; check out his autobiography ‘Merseybeast’ which was published in 2008.
