Drenge have unveiled a new track from their anticipated second album in the form of the furious ‘Favourite Son’.  Following ‘Never Awake’ and ‘We Can Do What We want’, ‘Favourite Son’ is a pitch black punk assault which bodes well for their new album Undertow.

The LP was recoreded at McCall Sound Studio with Ross Orton and features new addition Robert Graham on bass. The band have said “it’s about love and loss but it’s also about reservoirs and moors and a really great Arabic cafe near the studio.”  order the album ‘Undertow’ to get this track as an instant download:

Drenge announce their eagerly anticipated second album “Undertow”, due for release on Infectious Music on the 6th April.
The first single from the record, “We Can Do What We Want”, Drenge are Rory Loveless and Eoin Loveless. Undertow is the follow up to their acclaimed self-titled debut album, released in the summer 2013.

Written and recorded on tour last year, and between their hometown of Castleton and Sheffield, where the band now live, “Undertow” was produced by Ross Orton and, for the first time, features a third member, Rob Graham, playing bass on three songs; Graham joins the band for live shows. Drenge last week played their first live shows of 2015, two low key dates in Leeds and Manchester, leading The Guardian to call them ‘a formidable, exciting live band, whose eruption of garage, grunge and space rock combines with Damned/Misfits-style crooning to turn the jam-packed audience into a heaving mass in minutes.’
An NME Awards Show takes place in London in February, and the band today announce a full UK tour to begin the week of Undertow’s release. All UK shows are 14+ with tickets priced at £12 (£13.50 in London).
